Nice spot to possibly see a platypus. No luck for me at this location but maybe a better chance at dawn or dusk.

My suggestion is park 500m down stream at the end of Penda St and walk along the Petersen creek trail instead - we saw heaps and that was around 11am on a sunny day. Fawley’s pool towards the end of the trail was particularly prolific, about 10 sightings in 15 minutes.

Be sure to visit at either dawn or dusk! We swung by here on our way back from Curtain Fig Tree to try our luck, but, at 9am in September, there were no platypus to see. However it looks to be a great spot to hide and watch them swimming in their natural habitat. A fun photo opportunity for families too.

Sad did not get a chance to see the platypus. Give 4 star because the place is convenient and easy to find . But think really need to have patience and wait

Saw a cute little platypus after only about a 10-15min wait - around 5pm. Go past the viewing platform and under the bridge - and please be quiet and don’t yell or shine lights into the water when you see something… when some people started doing that, we stopped seeing anything at all. But happy we saw one!! Very cute.

This place is amazing. It’s a hidden gem ! I have been here twice and the 2nd time spotted a platypus within 100 metres on the walk. Parking is great fits about 12 cars. It has a viewing area so you can sit and watch the platypus. Not really wheelchair friendly as the walkway is dirt and rock there are a couple of stairs but is an easy walk threw the natural habitat of many different critters. Whilst watching the water. I had a water dragon next to me feeding on bugs. The path is marked and has info on the way

Unfortunately we didn't see any platypus from the official spotting platform but like a few other reviewers, we had much better luck under the bridge on the other side of the river. The small wooden benches are a great place to spot a platypus(or turtles) if you are quiet and a bit patient.

Very nice area to see the Platypus, the website should mention you have a lot more chances to see them at dusk or dawn. Should not detour around noon. We haven't been able to see any. But we enjoy the calm of the area especially under the bridge.
