I stayed at Byron Baythers. Here’s the thing, it’s not if you find a problem, it’s the way they deal with it. In my case, a blocked sink with old spa tub water would have been terrible but the manager sorted it without fuss and relocated me instantly to an upper entire apartment level. Problem solved and 5-star response. This place is also in a great central location too with a brilliant pool area.

Billy went out of his way to make our experience a memorable one. From our initial enquiry, to the welcome pack and his availability throughout our stay, Billy's service was excellent. We will be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and agency to anyone looking to make their next stay in Byron Bay a special occasion.

I travel frequently and generally have no major issues with accommodations, but my experience with Byron Baythers was not at all satisfactory. Here are the key issues I encountered:

* Check-in Issues:
* I was contacted on the morning of check-in for credit card details and promised check-in instructions later that day.
* No instructions received by evening, requiring a follow-up phone call after my flight to get the details, which delayed our arrival.

* Lockbox Problems:
* Upon arrival, the lockbox was broken, and keys were missing.
* Had to call management and wait outside with luggage for a replacement key.
* No apology or explanation from the manager when he arrived for the inconvenience. Evening plans significantly disrupted due to this issue.
* Lockbox was not repaired (as promised) before check-out, causing delays in returning keys.

* Cleaning Standards:
* The room was not cleaned properly: found a dead cockroach in the bathroom.
* Despite paying a cleaning fee, we were told we were responsible for cleaning the room and leaving it as we found it—yet no cleaning products were provided.
* We were also required to wash our own towels, and no fresh sheets were given during our stay. Not satisfactory to have to do this when paying a cleaning fee.

* Room Booking Discrepancy:
* Booked the Wategos Suite, but was placed in the Lennox Suite without prior notice or explanation.
* The Wategos Suite, which I had paid for, was the room I specifically requested and booked, making the change especially disappointing.

* ‘Adults Only’ Policy Not Followed:
* The property was advertised as ‘adults only,’ but there was a child in the pool and common areas.
* As a result, we chose not to use the pool, which was a major reason for selecting this property.

* Poor Communication and Delayed Response:
* Sent an email on December 9th, 2024, outlining concerns and requesting compensation.
* Received a reply on December 11th, 2024, stating the issue was being reviewed by management, but after five follow-up emails, I didn’t get a response until January 23rd, 2025.
* The response did not acknowledge the delay and was unsatisfactory.
* Incorrect Information Provided in email response:
* Further to the above, management claimed I hadn’t booked the Wategos Suite, but I have written confirmation from Booking.com and email records to prove I did.
* They also claimed the lockbox was fixed immediately by their maintenance team, but it was still broken when we checked out.

We have so much gratitude for property manager Billy Badani, who goes that extra step to be helpful and solve problems. He is thoughtful, thorough and just so easy to deal with. He makes the rental process - which can be a minefield - into an easy and stress-free experience. Thank you Billy.

Would not use this company again to book any of our holidays. After having a Christmas holiday booked for over 10 months, we received a call a month from our reservation stating we no longer have a reservation for you anymore and could not give a valid reason why. Communication from then on was appauling aswell trying to get our money back which seemed near impossible.
Please do not use this company for any of your holidays, you will be disappointed!!

While the house ,host and communication were wonderful and helpful at the start of the process, the booking agency at the end of our stay was less than friendly. We left the property in a very clean state yet they stated that we damaged the floor in front of the fireplace which we disputed. They did not take into consideration anything that we said and charged us $340 to fix the floor, which we felt was very overpriced for the supposed damage. It then took over a month and a lot of chasing up to receive the balance of our security deposit. We will not be booking any of their properties again.

We had the most amazing weekend getaway at Casbar Estate in Byron Bay. The property was in pristine condition, and Billy, the property manager, exceeded our expectations. He promptly answered all our questions before our arrival and was waiting to welcome us upon check-in. Billy gave us a thorough tour of the magnificent estate, helping us feel right at home from the start.

Do Not Book through this agent!!! The customer service was disgraceful! They cancelled our booking 3 days out . We were 6 adults and 3 kids under 3 !!! Jennifer informed us by email at 5:48pm Not even a phone call .. and of course when I tried to call the office was closed! We had a stressful night trying to organise alternative location! The lies from there just continued..we eventually found a place ourselves but had to pay more!!! Worst customer service I’ve ever had …
