There are a few walks to choose from All graded for difficulty. We recently walked a grade 3 track which involved some steep assent and descents plus rough ground and rock scrambling. The views were amazing , wear decent shoes and in warmer weather watch out for snakes, some kangaroos around which was nice, and quite a few birds to add birdsong to the environment.

Great hiking spot with multiple tracks suiting all levels. Took kids on weekend and they loved the place. Parked near Flinders Peak Walk track where there are toilets available as well.

It is a great place to ride MTB, hike, run, explore and have picnics or BBQ's. I visit regularly for trail running events and to take my family for outings. The steps to the top of Flinders Peak can be quite challenging for some but it is worth the hike to see the amazing views. I would recommend to anyone wanting a day out that isn't too far from Geelong, Melbourne or Ballarat. It has ample toilets and picnic tables with a few BBQ facilities.(One was not working today) There isn't alot of rubbish bins or water taps so I would recommend bring plenty of water and also bags to take rubbish home.

Solid park + fairly close to the western suburbs, pano views, leashed dog friendly, essentially a more family-friendly Grampians. Did the loop hike, definitely manageable for fit people on drier days. Have fun!!

I did a hiking trip there, starting from the turntable drive carpark, going through the east trail, north trail, and circling back through the east west trail.

The view is stunning. Feels so lucky to have this beautiful regional area views here which is not far away from Melbourne.

The trail is challenging for me. Lots of obstacles and less resting areas, also a little bit dangerous. However, it is what I love it for.

I will definitely come back again and here are some tips if you want to do the same. Use lots of sunscreen as there are few to none shades. Wear long trousers as there are lots of thorny plants. Bring enough water as there are no water stations.

Other than that, enjoy!

Magnificent views, birdlife, great for walkers and hikers. It has two mountain biking areas and there are 29 running trails in this Park and the most popular is East Track, Northern Range and Branding Yard Loop. Plenty of things to do here.

When in Melbourne this is one of my favourite easy walking trails. So easy to access various trails that are both for beginners and more determined walkers. Beautiful nature, wildlife, though I missed the Koalas this time but they're usually around. The local towns offer good cafes and food and the nearby free sanctuary at Serendip is just wonderful. Lots of flat easy wheelchair and bicycle accessible walks there in these magnificent basalt plains west of Melbourne.
