We had 5 guests and went to the same room , as last time.
Last time 3 beds for children were in the same room . This time a fold put couch was provided with no extra sheets.
No curtains in the family area for privacy from peeping eyes or early wakeups.
They have obviously been before and have never been put back.

Hopefully things will improve

Decent Stay – Good Location but Some Frustrations

Overall, this was a reasonable stay and I’d rate it 4 stars. The experience was very transactional — check-in and service were efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. The room itself was clean, tidy, and fairly well organised. The bathroom had been recently renovated and was quite nice, clean and modern, which was a definite plus.

There are some quirks though. The bedside lighting is poorly designed — small under-table lights instead of proper bedside lamps made it impossible to read comfortably without using the full ceiling lights. The bed was on wheels, so every time you sat up to watch TV or read, it would slide away from the headboard, which was quite frustrating. The kitchenette is basic, with a fridge and microwave, but you have to use the bathroom sink to fill the kettle, which isn’t ideal. Cutlery was all disposable, which felt a bit cheap, and the AC heating was inconsistent — staff weren’t particularly helpful in resolving this either.

That said, for around $140 per night, it’s fair value for what you get. You’re not paying for 5-star luxury, and as a base for visiting the Dandenongs or Yarra Valley, it’s very conveniently located. If you’re looking for a simple, functional stay while exploring the area, it does the job.

I stayed here under the intention that this place had a pool and I was disappointed that it was falsely advertised. It still displays the pool in google even though it has been filled in. Not a very nice place to stay for kids. Rooms are basic and bathrooms have been poorly renovated shower taps and fittings don't work properly.

We stayed over with a guest and occupied 2 rooms. Found the service at reception very friendly and efficient. The room was very clean and the place looks as though it has been recently renovated. The bed was very comfortable and we couldn’t fault the place.

Thanks for a wonderful overnight stay.

Warning to tourist view at your own risk. This place is horrible to the max. I don't normally pissed off this badly however this motel is really extremely the worst i have ever stay. I stay alot of motel during my road trip in Australia.

I booked a room with spa which i can enjoy after a long drive. Enter the room quite decent for a 3 star rated. However things came to a shock that the water is freaking dirty. I brought my baby to enjoy the trip however it came to a shock that the water is black! How i found out is when i was boiling water on my own kattle(not theirs), my water has green stuff on the side. After which i fill water up on the spa and wash the tub as normally i do. Lots of green and back stuff coming out from the pump area. I notice that the water already getting black. I then stop everything and went out to buy water as the water is not drinkable and not use able. I didn't even shower during the stay as it already late. I told my wife just sleep for a night and we will get lost in the morning. In middle of the night, lots of noise outside was not able to sleep in peace.

Long story short, not worth paying such money and staying at this place. I believe they had changed owner and the whole place looks like crap. Base on the past google review I booked the place. After stay notice not just me alone having such issues. The Swimming pool indeed looks like rubbish dump. The location is good but the motel is really stay at your own risk.

I have video and lots of photos to proof of the water. I'm not trying to whack this place down but those with kids please avoid at all cost. The place is not safe.

Ps. Nearby do really alot of good cafe and drinking spot.

I would strongly advise against staying at Yarra Valley Motel after the terrifying experience my wife and her friend endured. They checked in as two women needing accommodation before an early wedding booking (as my wife is a hairdresser).

At 9:30 PM, a random man attempted to enter their room along with 2 female accomplices. They immediately called reception for help, but their concerns were dismissed. When the police finally arrived two hours later, the receptionist claimed there was "nothing to see" and sent them away. Fortunately, the police returned, recognized the seriousness of the situation, and helped them pack up and leave. They were forced to find alternative accommodation at 11:30 PM—a stressful and unacceptable situation.

What’s even more appalling is that after filing a complaint with the motel’s customer service team, they again dismissed our concerns, insisting that "nothing happened." This response is unacceptable and deeply concerning.

The complete lack of safety, security, and accountability at this establishment is shocking. Avoid this place at all costs.

Strangely enough, the mother of the groom (who had her hair done by my wife in the morning) heard all the commotion so for the receptionist to say this is made up is ridiculous.

Room was ok. Spa bath way to big for a short person. Room supposedly only cleaned every second day but, on the second day, they literally just made the bed. No clean sheets. They didn't clean the cups as we have no washing up amenities in the room, tea and coffee satchels not replaced. The only clean thing on the second day was towels, put up high on the towel rack not placed neatly on the end of the bed. When we asked at reception they said they were not a 5 star motel and if we wanted the sheets changed etc then we had to ask. Had to agree that they are not even close to 3 star.
For $180pn totally not worth it and won't recommend it. No restaurant, this looks like it's being used as a storage pla e, no pool erc. Totally disappointed.

Check-in was quite smooth as they could retrieve my booking very quickly. I was able to check in at 2 pm on time, which was good. The room was very basic but it's true to the photos advertised. The room is clean and well kept and comes with a microwave, toaster and electric kettle. Bedding was average, but overall, this motel is very well located with a 24-hour Mac just beside and Coles within walking distance. I booked a family room for 4, so I would expect 4 sets of plates, bowls, metal spoon, and forks. There were only 2 bowls, 2 small plates, 2 large plates, and one metal dining knife, so it would be better for the hotel to provide these based on the number of guests expected for the room. Otherwise, it's really a good place to stay for its location and cleanliness.
