A great day in the valley supported by a very unprofessional driver. A beginning to the day sees us get lost 5 mins from home and grounded on a speed hump. The party is then forced to wait on the side of a road while the driver performs a 20 point turn to go back the way we came. Finding the correct way, the drive is now at sub light speed to make up time. Arrival at the winery, we are told we aren’t going to Chandon as it’s “too expensive for tastings “ and we have subbed another winery in instead. The nibbles advertised to be had at Chandon is subbed in by a packet of biscuits and 2 x $5 trays of cheddar blocks and salami . Two venues later a stated 445 departure is moved to a 345 departure with the driver stating “I’ve got another job to get to ..” Rushing out the door and driving again at light speed through the hills , the driver is asked several times to slow dow which is met by argumentative responses by the driver including “..I’ll leave you all on the side of the road “. A call to the tour office also falls on deaf ears. Arriving back just on 430 ,we are pushed out as fast as we can by the driver. The most disappointed part to the day is proven by the driver and his final comments to the group as he drives off. I hope the 530 booking got the first class service ,as we certainly didn’t. Clearly customer service takes a back seat on the day bookings .
