If you wanna go somewhere where the owner just talks about how good he is, this is the place for you.
The baby ducks were cute.
I never leave bad reviews but I was absolutely shocked to see this place had so many 5 star reviews.
Go next door for good service and unbeatable spreads along with good wine and cocktails.

Just a Uber cool winery, in a beautiful location. Super quirky furniture & fixtures. Brilliant wine. Engaging, eccentric owner. One of a kind. Get it on your bucket list!

You either get this place, or you don't. For the reviews with 1 star, they just didn't get it.
If you are looking for a place that is for your Insta page, this is not for you.
If you are looking for a truly down to earth location, with the most amazing wines, this is the place.
Do not walk in with preconceived notions of what a winery should be. Allow Moondog to be himself and he will take you on a journey of his wine, the place and the history of wines in the area.
I felt very relaxed and comfortable with Moondog. He is a host, an entertainer, and a wealth of knowledge.
We realised in a day when everyone is aiming for the hippy, hipster image, this place is the real deal. It isn't trying, it is living.
I wouldn't change this place. It's eccentricity is its shtick.
So, if you love good red wine, and entertainment, visit this location.
If you are expecting the host to give you cocktails and falsehoods, you will be disappointed.
Go in with a relaxed open mind and be taken on the journey. It's uniqueness is its gift to all wine lovers.

We visited here today and all of us loved it. Quirky, eclectic and some of the best white.
Fizz and reds we tried on our winery tour. We will be back another time with our BYO lunch and spend a few hours there. See you soon Moondog, thanks for the session!

So my friends and I were greeted by who seemed to be the owner. We explain we would like some cocktails and he says “that’s gay, we don’t do cocktails”. He really pushed us to come in for a glass of wine and we are greeted by a gust of smoke from their bonfire. We decline the offer for wine and he was annoyed and very rude about us leaving. We all stunk like smoke from the 2 minutes we stayed there.

Moondog ( John ) is the chillest bloke you will meet. His winery is very unique and will go out of his way to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. I have visited this winery twice and has not disappointed.

This is a fantastic and quirky place for wine lovers. Moondog is a fun and engaging host- possibly the most unique experience in the McLaren Vale and delicious wines too. Loved it!
