We did one of the last tours in October, absolutely loved it, Hardus really knows his local history and is passionate about his town, the town part of the tour was much much more than we expected, weipa is a very different town and has a fascinating history and is operationally interesting as well.
The mine tour was totally awesome, it is so hard to actually see a working mine, the really big stuff is fascinating up close and being able to see and have explained the work flow from in the ground to the ship loading was really special.
Hats off and a big shout out to Rio Tinto for enabling this with Hardus and Megan too, so often now it's just easier to say no, but it's so worth it to see Thank you, loved it ?

This tour is a must if visiting Weipa. Ensure you book early as it gets booked out and I can understand why. Hardus was brilliant and his vast knowledge is amazing.

Hardus gave us a fantastic tour of Weipa town and mine site. His local knowledge and connections allow the tour to be customised to suit the time of day, weather conditions and various mine operations. I was amazed at the information Hardus was able to provide us regarding local bird life, history of the Cape, Aluminium processing and operation of shipping in the Gulf. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Weipa.

Had very educational tour with Weipa Mine & Town Tour. Guide Darren was very informative, friendly and many a dad joke - peppered throughout the informative tour. Really didn't expect to see a koala - keep your eyes peeled 😉 amazing get a feel for the vastness of the mine and its importance to Weipa. Loved all the ecological and regeneration information as well as town history. I work in Weipa and wasn't aware of most of the history points.

My group and I joined Darren for a tour on Tuesday and I just wanted to provide some Feedback.
The tour was amazing, enormously educational and enjoyable. The information we received gave us a better understanding of Weipa and surrounds.
Darren was an awesome guide, he was excellent, I don’t think I can express in text what an asset to your company he is.
We will be back in 2 years and I think I’d do the tour again.
