My husband scott, our dog Toby and I loved our Walhalla Goldfields Railway train trip. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by all the staff and in particular volunteers Jason and Steve were happy to have a chat and provide interesting information. When they learnt it was my husband's birthday they even offered my husband the chance to sit in the locomotive at the front with the driver in the return to Walhalla. Very generous of them and my husband loved it! Very dog friendly and would definitely recommend!

Walhalla Station offers an opportunity to ride the old goldfields train that traverses through steep mountainsides on one side and a picturesque stream on the other. The train trip includes a quick stop at Thompson River. Well worth the trip. Highly recommended for families and couples.

Walhalla is a great day trip, the train is super cute and a great view. The town itself is beautiful, so pretty and like going back in time. A perfectly preserved little village with such a great feel. It has some lovely walks and the time of year we went (autumn) all the tres were stunning. So much to look at.

Great for a family trip and there is even camping if you wanted to have a relaxed weekend.

Little Miss Apropos

Not only a lovely trip through the bush on a vintage diesel, the stations at either end are clean and tidy, and the staff are super-friendly, helpful and eager to share their knowledge and love of the railway. There are toilets at both stations as well. Take the short drive up to the Walhalla village as well - a really lovely little place. Highly recommended 🙂

Great ride....through the Trestle bridges leading you to a crazy ride through the woods over the small streamline river...great experience.

Everything about this setup is amazing. The train carriages are marvelously retro (and take me way back), the workers are very friendly and happy to chat, and the scenery is MAGNIFICENT. For all train enthusiasts, this is a must!

What an enjoyable trip. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only criticism is that we didn't have any commentary. On obtaining our tickets online, we were informed to bring our ear buds. We either missed how we were to hear it or there wasn't any. Maybe a friendly reminder by staff when checking in would be helpful. The scenery was beautiful.
