We were surprised by how amazing our train trip was! Pay a bit more and go first class. Stunningly-resorted historic carriages make the trip luxurious and special. Our time in Maldon was full of interesting shops, food, art and history. On the train back to Castlemaine we enjoyed David’s G&Ts in The Parlour bar car while we watch beautiful Aussie bush out the windows. The volunteer staff were outstanding. Recommend this highly.

Best train ride I’ve ever been on! My two year old son especially loved it, his first time on a train and what a beauty. Wonderful trip into beautiful Maldon.

Surprised my partner with a trip on an old steam engine from Castlemaine to Maldon.
Sat in the first class cars with access to a bar and a platform from which to see a clear view of the landscape.
We loved the experience. The completely restored train was beautiful. The volunteers who run the operation are passionate about trains and very friendly.

Beautiful. Fun for the whole family. We had three generations laughing and "oooh"ing all morning long. There is a shuttle bus service at the stop but the walk isnt too long

Lovely experience taking a step back in history on the train. Maldon in an interesting place to visit and we were fortunate to be there for the Sunday markets (second Sunday of the month).
