The tallest horse you will ever see pulls this two decker carriage. It is an experience on its own. We wanted to try the top open deck but too windy. It reaches you to granite island and even though short, it is a good slow ride.

Such a fun and unique experience, that's historic and unusual! The pier to Granite Island is moderately long and if you plan to walk up the boardwalks and along the trails on the island, it'll definitely cut down some significant distance spent on your feet. We were tugged along by Scotty the horse while we checked out the beautiful blue waters. The tram runs back and forth roughly every 20mins so you never have to wait long but it only operates in the middle of the day, which I think is a missed opportunity (adding morning sessions before 10am and even sunset sessions or anything after 3pm would be brilliant, as long as they continue to swap horses). The price was obviously a little high because it's a tourist attraction but not completely unreasonable. I'd recommend walking one way and tramming the other so you experience both options. We loved it though and would definitely be back again ?

Giving this a 10/10 Horse Drawn Tram topped the start of the day it is worthwhile hopping onboard an taking the trip over to Granite Island , spectacular scenery ?

Took the horse drawn carriage to the island and was very enjoyable, it might look like the horse is pulling it by itself but the tension on the rope that it pulls isn’t that tight so it makes me wonder there is an engine underneath the tram. Otherwise great experience.

great way to head across to this small island with its cafe and island walking tracks with view of the ocean and the victor harbour coastline. the horses are freind and love to come over for a chat when house in the feeding bays we were told that the horse are rested throughout the day they seemed happy and looked healthy

Very nice attraction. Tickets available from driver. You can pay by card. Paid parking next to it. One way takes cca 20mins. Lovely staff. Recommended. (Visited Nov 2024)

Take the tram to Granite Island
Excellent views and rock formations if you walk the island track..good cafe and facilities on the island.Tram every 40 mins providing weather is good

Beautiful place. We visited on Easter. There were rides and lots of food stalls available. We had a good time. It’s very close to market place. Nice parks with enough sitting arrangements with water and barbecues. We couldn’t do the boat tour or horse tramway, May plan on next visit. A good place to spend time with gamy and friends ❤️❤️
