Shannon is an excellent tour guide, highly experienced and knowledgeable about wineries. During the trip, she asked thoughtful questions, like whether it was my first time in Perth and what places I planned to visit. She also shared some great recommendations for my trip. Throughout the journey, she made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of.

We visited four different wineries to sample their unique wines. The standout for me was the Honey Wine, which had an incredibly distinctive taste and isn’t available in supermarkets. It left a lasting impression.

For future visitors, I’d recommend emailing Up Close and Local Tours ahead of time to check if it's the right season to witness production or harvesting. Since we visited in Spring, most of the production had already finished, and the vines were awaiting the next reproduction cycle. As a result, we primarily enjoyed wine tastings during our tour.

Our trip to Swan Valley and Caversham Wildlife Park was fantastic! The trip was made even better by Paul’s flexibility in accommodating to our preferences and adjusting the itinerary. Would definitely recommend Up Close and Local Tours to anyone travelling to Perth.

I have now done two fantastic private tours of the Swan Valley with Shannon and I 100% recommend booking with Up Close and Local if you are in Perth. We visited great wineries on both occasions and Shannon was very happy to customise the tour depending on what we were interested in (eg particular types of wine or a gin distillery). She was very accommodating in making stops if we wanted to buy bottles from a winery we had visited earlier, or visit the chocolate shop. A great day out.

Our group of four decided to celebrate our last day of our NT/WA holiday with a half day Swan Valley tour.

It was a tremendously successful decision. It was a great way to finish our holiday and to enjoy Swan Valley, some lovely wines, boutique beers and see the area in general.

Shannon looked after us and she was so spot on with her knowledge of the area, very good wine knowledge and just being so willing to ensure that we had a great day out. Plus, she’s very nice and has a great sense of humour.

I definitely recommend this tour. It was so enjoyable.

Everything was perfect - from the first email through the preparation to the last minute of the trip. We are so happy we were referred to Up Close and Personal Tours by a bigger tour company (as they were unable to accommodate our small group of 3). All the way from Shannon's prompt response to our first enquiry, through to Paul's impromptu Freo tour enroute to our drop off location, the service was top notch. They were super accommodating, very clear communication, well priced and the tour was an absolute highlight of our trip to WA. We've already recommended them to our WA family and friends!
