We loved our recent stay at Under the Mount. Very peaceful. The room was clean and perfect for my young family (2 kids, parent & a grandparent). The kids loved the communal games area and the kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Lovely outside area to enjoy meals. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Very close to the main street and bike and walking trails. Would definitely recommend. Would be great for a big group.

I didn't look at Under the Mount when I was looking for wheelchair accessible accommodation for one night in Melrose, because I thought it was cabins for families and that wasn't what I was after. When we arrived at a local hotel to check into what I had been led to believe was a room that would work well with a wheelchair, even though not technically designated 'accessible' and found that my husband couldn't get into the room once the door was open, we had to find alternate accommodation. The person at the original hotel was very helpful and organised a designated accessible room for us at Under The Mount. What a find! Kristen was in Adelaide but organised someone to open and prepare the room for us - very welcoming all round. The room was a great accessible room, the share kitchen incredibly well stocked with utensils, appliances and entertainment and we would certainly stay again. Wheelchair users just beware that the path from car to room is pretty short, but is gravel (fairly firm though).

Highly recommend. Well equipped rooms, spotlessly clean, superbly equipped kitchen, friendly atmosphere, EV chargers, laundry available... Really lived up to their claim that "You don't need to bring anything". 5 minute walk from the centre of town. Would stay again!

We recently stayed for the weekend with a few other families. It was so much fun and relaxing.

It’s such a great setup, comfy, well appointed ensuite rooms and bunk rooms for the kids. The communal spaces are a great place to hang out, particularly around the fire.

The venue caters really well to the needs of mountain bikers with places to store / charge bikes and a bike wash station.

The shared kitchen facility is brilliant a large and clean space - love the labels on all the cupboards!

We also took advantage of the multitude of food and coffee options literally just around the corner.

Melrose is a friendly welcoming town and well set up for tourists.

Kristen handled our complicated booking with ease, we felt very welcome on arrival.

Awesome stay, we’ll be back!

Had a wonderful stay at Under the Mount. Rooms were clean and had all the facilities we needed. Location was great - right near town and the bike trails. Owners are friendly and easily to reach if you need anything. Highly recommend and we will absolutely be back.

We were the only ones staying at that time, so the place was a bit empty, but we had a great stay nevertheless. There are a lot of nice communal areas and the kitchen is well equipped. The room also seemed quite new/recently renovated.

We had such a relaxing experience at Under the Mount. Super comfy beds, cabin was very clean, and location is superb with short walks to the pubs and shops. We sat by the fire pit enjoying our wine! A great place to stay.

The rooms are utterly clean and functional without being flashy, the hosts are wonderful and caring and kept an eye on us returning from our MTB rides which is reassuring. Will be back to do it again soon enough.
