I was a violinist at a wedding that Treat Catering was also working at. Harry and the other caterers were absolutely brilliant and after the incident happened made sure that we were alright and that we were looked after. I have never been treated like the way I was treated by and spoken to by James. Having worked with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and playing all over the world, I can safely say that I work right to schedule and am highly professional. Having had to change places from the previous place we played at the venue, we had a 20 min break in which James came over to us spoke to us like we were children and said “you need to start playing now, you’re not getting any food until you finish.” Which in-fact, was not the arrangement which I have down in writing. He also refused to get us an umbrella to play under, stating “it has dropped 10 degrees, I’m not getting you one.” Well James, my instrument happens to be an antique instrument made in the 1800’s in France which can’t be in direct sunlight as the seams will unstick. It also states in the run sheets that “appropriate shade/cover will be provided” James is highly unprofessional and is incredibly rude and two-faced. If you can avoid contact with him, please do as the other staff were magnificent. James, you need to take a cold hard look at yourself. We as musicians are happy to work together to come to a solution if there was a discrepancy in the two run sheets, but your behaviour despicable. You obviously had no idea of what what going on. Thank you to Harry and the team for your hard work and help during the day. You made the experience 10x better.
