This place rocks. The best beer on tap and staff are awesome. The publican is a bit frosty at the start but give him a break. He probably sees many touros and he is an all round nice bloke. Meal was so tasty and big and price was spot on. Expect to pay more for your beer but up here...the beer is better.

Terrible, expensive food . Used to have a great rep for fantastic meals and atmosphere. . Tourist season atm and the place is empty except for 6 in our group . Cooktown has some challenges with staff availability but overpriced, awful meals? really disappointing .

Had a fantastic meal at the Top Pub. All the seafood is straight off the boats and the beef comes from the owners farm so the food is so fresh and tastes great. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend going in for a feed and a drink.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The meals were very fresh and tasty. Hubby had chicken parmigiana, chips & salad & said the salad was the best he’s had in a long time. I had their prawn, scallop & calamari pasta with garlic & wine sauce. Bloody delicious. Highly recommend.

The night was good and food was great, however the way the bar member spoke was absolutely appalling!! Drinking and being allowed behind the bar and saying to patrons 'step outside and I'll give you a head but' was disappointing. Great way to ruin a good night. Will not recommend!!!!

The building itself is an awesome example of colonial Queensland architecture. The atmosphere perfectly matches the decor with the full retinue of outback characters. Surely looking barman with a massive dog that looks like it could tear your face off but is actually a big softie. British barmaid fending off unwelcome attempts at over friendliness from patrons. Intimidating looking locals & an owner who's physical appearance raises a myriad of questions as to his past. All in all; an awesome experience. Highly recommend!

Beautiful food had the best lasagne in my life. Service is quick and excellent. Everyone is friendly. Met people and became friends in a second. Definitely recommend.
