Lovely walk around the area, lots of extensive trails of different levels. The lookout was nice but strong fog during the winter, if lifted a little but kept coming back too. Awesome scenery and can see super far when it's clear

if you havent been a while you should visit again. the lookout has been upgraded, with a big promenade type platform. its very spacious, there were a few tourists but not overcrowded, surprising for a nice balmy sunday arvo, the king n queen were in sydney i think.
As always the fresh mountain air and the blue of the air fromthe eucalypt oils impressed the kids and so did echo points ubiquitous cooeeing. there are new tracks with little silver blue tongues, cicadas etc and the kids were fascinated by the different layers of rock and sediment along the tracks, sandstone rock, sandy sediment layers and crooked rocks and steel like rocks and bubbly rocks and holey rocks 🙂 they wanted to do the big staircase. a sign says echo point was updated in 2019/2020 (over or before covid times?).
although my message to Blue mountains council is the toilets have to be cleaned regularly, and perhaps in daylight saving time the information centre could open longer until maybe 6pm. it could be played by ear, cos the place was full of tourists wanting info and my 8yo wanted to get info about the mythology of the 3 sisters straight from the kiosk instead of the internet.
The last time i visted was 2014, there is a nice little pub down there now with live music and a cafeteria foid court type setting with cafes, like in a shopping centre. we had lunch at katoomba RSL, nice place nice lunch, friendly concierge.
