Bookings need to done in advanced. There is no service desk. Confirmations are sent by text to your mobile which has room number, Front door entry code and room entry code.

Room and Bathroom was very large. Laundry available but didn't use.
Vending machine in foyer, has snacks, drinks and laundry detergent available for purchase.

Bar fridge contained a small longlife milk for making a tea or coffee.

Room was fine but they gave us the wrong code on the door. I called the number and instead of fixing the issue they just repeatedly insisted the code was correct when it absolutely wasn't. After being locked out for so long finally had to have another guests let us in. Room was fine but be careful here there is a real chance you will be locked out and no one on site to assist

We received a text with instructions on how to get into our room, which was easy enough. There was a dog smell in the room which I think may have been because either the a/c or shower were leaking, as the carpet was wet. Maintenance were great and saw to it straight away. Our room was a good size with a balcony overlooking a spare block/pond. The outdoor furniture was covered in spider webs. Unfortunately, on arriving back 1 afternoon, we had to walk through a disgusting smoke cloud due to other users (about 12 ) smoking at the entry door and left their buttons in the garden.

The place was great,easy parking,easy to access,quiet,room was spacious,nice large bed.
Until the AC is turned on,can’t adjust it at all,preset on 19 degrees and fan flat out so it sounds like a helicopter.
We won’t be back unless the AC issue is sorted.Needs to be adjustable,like any other motel.We usually set them on 23 degrees,and low fan so it is quiet,impossible here.

I booked Thornton Executive Hotel on the midnight before my check in at the afternoon via Agoda. It was very good to have this instant room availability during Easter holidays at Newcastle.
Driving between Newcastle CBD and the hotel takes approximately 40 minutes within an acceptable range, so it gets 3 stars
The cleanness and facilities of my room is good, so it takes 4 stars
Service is a tricky item, firstly, here is an unmanned hotel, everything is self-help, doors codes are received thru mobile SMS and etc. It’s still okay until next day 10am the offical check out time. The cleaner knocked my door but I thought the hotel offered me a late check out benefit because I received a text message mentioning it. Fortunately, we used to wake up early during travelling. So, I answered the door and then I received a call from the hotel office asking me if I want to check out late with an extra payment. Of course, no. Finally, we leaved in a bit of rush and signalled the cleaner. So, it took 2 stars.

Booked a room for 3 adults. Got there and was locked out, proceeded to be held outside (late at night) whilst on the phone, waiting to be let in. Finally we get to the room, only to see 1 double bed.

We called back and had to wait for confirmation from a manager (because the lady was adamant that we did not book 3 beds) and had to wait for them to call us back because there was no one at reception. This is in fact not what you want, after being on the road for 4 days and it was late at night.

We finally got access to a different room only to be met with ONE stained dirty, smelly towel, a blocked sink and faucet that was about to fall off.

Not impressed to say the least... lesson.. dont ever judge a place on their name. Not impressed at all!

Don't stay here if you expect any sort of hospitality, this was the first and last time we will stay here.

It is what it is really, somewhere to crash overnight if on the road need to stay in the area.

For me, I wanted to check out MaltnHops Brewery which is just down the road and needed somewhere to stay which was close to the brewery in case I had to walk back after a few beers….enters Thornton Executive 👍🏻

Took me a minute to find the access codes to gain entry to the building. A quick call to the reception phone number and they were able to resend me the codes and I was in. Was a lot busier than I was expecting.

Rooms are basic but clean. Bed linen is basic too and I’m glad I brought my own pillow.

I was after a late night feed after enjoying the beers at MaltnHops and there is easy access to walk over to Red Rooter or KFC.

If I came back up to have beers at the brewery I’d stay here again.

The location is great, very close to the main road, making it convenient for our family to continue our trip to QLD the next day. The main reason for choosing this place is that it has EV charging stations, which makes charging quite convenient. The room has a bit of a hospital room style.
