Great pie shop to stop on a drive. Service is quick. Pies were delicious. Sweets were just ok but pies are what you come for. Coffee was surprisingly good. Good for a quick bite

Tried the pies they are well known for yesterday and today.
Had the Steak, chicken and Corn and Cauliflower and Brocolli.

Just disappointed that yesterday the ones we got were piping hot, but the ones we got today were lukewarm at best and pastry was soft. So didn't enjoy much today.. Also found the chicken corn pie filling a bit odd texture. Seemed a bit curdled.
The Brocolli and Cauliflower one was delicious.

Service received from Karen was excellent. Such a lovely and warm lady.

Bakery by the River is a must-visit when you're in Warburton. I brought my family and a friend to enjoy the cozy outdoor takeaway setting, and it turned out to be such a lovely stop. The country-style pies and pastries were hearty and comforting, but the lamington easily stole the spotlight — especially for my cousin and parents.

My cousin’s a true lamington lover, and every time she visits Australia, it’s top of her dessert list. This one hit all the right notes — soft, airy sponge, a chocolate layer that wasn’t overly sweet, and just the right amount of coconut. Simple, classic, and done really well.

It was one of those places that leaves you smiling — nice food, fresh air, and happy memories shared over something sweet. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

The service was amazing. Lovely girl served us. It was Easter weekend so busy but was pretty quick in the lineup.
They have a big selection and loads of pies so will have to come back and try more but we were just here for dessert.
We got the caramel slice, pecan pie and large Anzac biscuit.
I’ll start with the good. And it was actually great. Caramel spice was really good, I’d prob get that again. My mum thought it was too sweet but I loved it. The Anzac biscuit was average, the taste was okay but it was too hard, needed a softer centre.
The worst unfortunately was the pecan pie, I LOVE pecan pies but this was terrible and had 2 bites and I was done, 2nd to make sure I’m not making it up! The what should be caramel around the pecans was just a bad flavour. My mum didn’t like it much either. What a shame. I would come back to this place because they were quite popular and the caramel slice saved them.

Loved the service the lady her serviced us held amazing customer service and manners each customer saw her talk to was like the first customer of the day. She was upbeat. The food was great scallop pie OMG. Also the lamington was so good. There was some seating but you had to fight off the pigeons first. I’d recommend taking you select and eating it elsewhere.

We had great tasting pies and coffee for our stop over in our day trip today. The lady who served us was amazing. Will definitely stop again when we’re back in that area. You can enjoy your pies and coffee by the river too. Beautiful place…
