The hotel grounds are lovely, but the rooms are dated and housekeeping was pretty ordinary. Reception staff were great and went out of their way to help. The pool area is very nice, huge pool with enough shade. But be aware that they sell day passes which, on the weekend we were there, saw fifteen eleven year olds having a birthday pool party. Guest passes are one thing but letting that happen is not on. We ate at Ardo, which is fabulous and where we will stay next.

We had a wonderful stay. Our executive suite was an upgrade and stunning views on both sides! We were amazed with the size of the room and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We enjoyed a meal at Ms Wong which was OK. The pool is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I did not like the casino vibe at the entrance of the hotel but some people might come here exactly for that.

Great stay at the Ville. Booked the Ville for the World Triathlon event that was on in Townsville, and stayed in an executive room with Marina views. We were in the 19th floor with a fantastic view of the Marina and Castle Hill. There were 4 of us in the room and while it wasn’t a massive room, it was big enough. We had the breakfast buffet every day which was nice (though they only make omelettes on the weekend). We liked the different baked beans every day! What we really appreciated was that the Ville agreed to store a large bike box for us while we were travelling around Australia for a couple of weeks, we then stayed another night at the end of our trip to pick it up. This made a massive difference to us, not having to cart the bike round with us. Indeed, we may not have made the trip to Australia if this had not been agreed. |We really enjoyed the pool and the view from the pool, and the life guard was very proactive in pointing out the change in depth. We also appreciated that children were expected to be ‘actively supervised’ and this was made clear from check in. The Splash bar was great for swim up cocktails and light meals. We also ate in the Quarterdeck a couple of times, which was a nice relaxed affair for family meals. All in all, a great stay, thank you all at the Ville!

I recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience, especially with the stunning sea view from my room. The room itself was spacious, well-appointed, and offered a breathtaking panorama of the ocean, which was a true highlight of my stay. Waking up to the serene sight of the waves and enjoying a coffee while watching the sunset was simply unforgettable.

The bathroom was another standout feature, with a large, luxurious bathtub perfect for unwinding after a long day. The design was modern and elegant, with high-quality fixtures and amenities that added a touch of indulgence to my stay.

Overall, The Ville exceeded my expectations, particularly with the combination of a beautiful room and amazing. It's the perfect retreat for anyone looking to relax and soak in some coastal beauty. Highly recommended!

Nice grounds, but housekeeping sucks. We had an issue with the cleanliness of our room upon arrival and, three days later, the issue was not resolved, notwithstanding promises the the supervisor of housekeeping was looking into it. This leads us to wonder if the room is ever cleaned and vacuumed and, heaven forbid, we were sleeping on used sheets. The hotel management did not seem to care about our concerns as it took 2 days for a person to contact us, but it was at an inconvenient time and we asked if they could contact us later as we really wanted to talk about our concerns. That never happened. The front desk staff is very professional and the grounds and pool are very nice and well maintained. The restaurants are adequate, but not overwhelming.

We had the most luxurious escape at the The Ville, Townsville and could not recommend it more highly. ||The cleanliness of the spacious rooms could not be faulted. The bathrooms had spa quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. ||We loved that all rooms had individually controlled heating/cooling. The fridge was a great size too with a well stocked mini bar. ||We slept really well thanks to the comfortable beds, quality pillows, block out blinds and excellent soundproofing. ||Some other reviews have mentioned the pool being very busy but we didn't find this at all, despite it being school holidays. The pool is magnificent and we swam several times a day. It was a nice temperature, super clean and large. There was ample seating and fresh towels on hand. We loved that there was always a lifeguard on duty which is rare at other hotels we've visited. ||We visited The Palms restaurant several times for buffet breakfast and dinner. It was reasonably priced with a delicious range of fresh food, and the decor was perfect. Sitting outside on a balmy night in June while eating a delicious dinner was a real highlight (we come from wintery Victoria!). ||We also ordered room service several times and it was delivered quickly and piping hot. ||The staff at The Ville were all incredible. Everyone from the doormen to the housekeeping staff and restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. ||We could park our car on site for free which is another perk you often don't find at hotels like this. ||The Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre is right next door so have a look to see if there is anything on offer while you're staying. We took the kids to The Showmen magic show and it was a wonderful night out, just minutes from our hotel room. ||We loved the location as it's at a quiet end of town and a few minutes walk to the ferry for Magnetic Island. There are more cafes, shops and a supermarket about 25 min walk along The Strand waterfront. We also hired e-scooters to ride into town which was a lot of fun and a great way to get around. A bank of these scooters are available to hire right outside The Ville. The Ville also offers complimentary bikes but we didn't get around to hiring these. ||The museum is just a short walk away too which is a great place to visit with kids (it's also free!). Our children also loved the water playground which is about 15min walk from The Ville. ||We would stay at The Ville again in a heartbeat and will treasure our wonderful week here forever.

Hotel guests were openly smoking marijuna on the grass area in front of the pool - which blew straight towards everybody lounging by the pool, including children. Nothing was done by staff. Pool playlist is shocking and volume is way too loud. Having to listen to Christmas songs while trying to relax and read my book at 9.30am in the morning is not my idea of a good time. From my experience, pool music should just be in the background and provide a nice ambience (eg “poolside lounge” on Spotify). In addition, QR codes to order from the pool bar were not working at 4pm when the bar was fully operational. Cushions for the daybed areas around the pool were also not brought out for hours after the pool opening. Though not major issues, all of the above really takes away from the whole experience, especially with the pool being the biggest drawcard to the hotel.

Never been to townsville before i can say ive ticked it off the list but would return. Staying at the casino for the price of the rooms the amenities are lacking, no free bottled water (thats a first for me) no bathroom amenities kits that you usually see with the shower cap etc. day one 3pm and house keeping still had not been, when they did come after speaking to them they didn't even make the bed it was very strange! The rooms air con is amazing and does not cut off over night as most other hotels do so that is their best asset! Room service food is not great the odd meal is ok the rest is very bad!
Really nice swimming pool area but not enough seats and ontop of that the sell access to putside visitors knowing there is not enough space, also people are going there early before 8am and putting out towels like you would see in a low cost spanish hotel they need to stop them doing this, the life guard is there and would be aware of this happening. The pool bar drinks are weak and dont buy cocktail pitchers from them they say you get 3 drinks from it but i didnt even get 2 full drinks so thats a con stick to buying them single.
