The tour was fabulous!! After the introduction and instruction we were able to get into the truffle farm with our lovely truffle detectors Every group had chance to dig the truffle out!! Tho we’re not allowed to bring these treasures home hahaha.

After the adventure we got back to the table and enjoyed the fresh shredded truffle pizza, different truffle products, wine and grilled marshmallows ?

The truffle hunting experience is more educational than adventurous. If you’re expecting intense hunting, you won’t find it here – the dogs do all the work. At the end of the event, we were treated to wine and pizza generously sprinkled with truffle. If you’re looking to buy high-quality truffle, this is the right place.

This experience has been the highlight of my time in Tasmania so far. The experience was well organised. It was informative and I appreciated the passion and knowledge from Anna and her team. I learnt more about truffles than I ever thought I needed to know! I am scared of dogs, but fell in love with the beautiful Douglas. The dogs were playful but gentle. The food and wine were delicious. Clean bathrooms available. I really felt the team were looking out for everyone and making sure we all had a wonderful experience.

An absolute must do! The best and original truffle farm tour in Australia. For those who follow me, if you visit Launceston, it's approximately a 1 hour scenic drive to the farm or 3 hours north of Hobart.

After missing out on this tour on a previous visit to Tassie in 2023, I contacted the Truffle Farm regarding a specific date for August, that the tour wasn't available on their site. They were very accommodating and opened that day for the tour, we booked, and then I proceeded to book to the of the trip to Tassie.

The farm is very well set out, plenty of beautiful scenery and a fantastic shed for the main part of the tour. They even provide umbrellas if there is rain.

Mary, Kim, and Marley were all fantastic hosts on the day.
For the record, Marley is the cute, experienced truffle hunter in the photo ?

The tour consists of a very educational journey of the Truffle and the farm. Learning that you are literally on the first Australian Truffle Farm was simply a privilege (if you like truffles, of course).

After foraging with Marley for truffles, the tour finishes with a cheese pizza topped with fresh truffle, wine, or beer and a taste of four of their other truffle products. You even have a chance to roast marshmallows on their firepit near the tour shed.

You have the opportunity to purchase their products, which are also available online for delivery, Australia wide. Simply could resist, so we purchased the truffle oil, truffle balsamic, and an actual fresh truffle (which tastes great ?).

It was an absolutely delightful tasty tour no truffle lover should miss.

Beautiful place and the lady explained to us everything even when the shop was about to close in 5 mins! We bought fresh truffles and some other products, they are amazing. Summer truffle is $1.5 g and winter truffle is $3 g so you can plan your trip to visit here if you want something fresh!

Hands down, this was the best tour I’ve ever been on! From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless. We visited in August as part of my dad's 60th birthday celebration for the ‘Winter Warmer Truffle Hunt’.

The front gift shop was lovely, with some great photo opportunities. When we arrived at the farm entrance, we were warmly greeted by the real stars of the show— the dogs! Anna clearly cares for her dogs, so expect a variety of them, but not necessarily the same dogs or number each time. As a dog lover, it was amazing to see how much the dogs enjoyed being there and how excited they were to interact with us.

The seating area, complete with a cozy fire pit, was perfect for taking in the farm. Watching the dogs work their magic was mesmerizing, and getting up close to the truffles was a unique experience. One of the highlights was roasting marshmallows by the fire and enjoying a generous serving of truffle over a pizza— probably the most truffle I've ever had in a single meal! Gluten-free pizza was also available, as we had requested in advance when booking.

I can’t recommend this experience enough. Thank you, Anna and the whole team, for making this day so memorable!

Our visit to the The Truffle Farm has been the highlight of our Tassie trip! Anna and Mary are wonderful hosts, making the afternoon educational but also comfortable and relaxed! Not to mention the three beautiful dogs who do the hunting. You can feel just how much love goes into the farm and the dogs, and how lovely lunch and their products were.
