Enjoyed our stay with our dog; friendly staff, convenient location for exploring the city centre with parks included, cafe downstairs has nice coffee. Would have rated higher if parking on-site was available (the off-site options aren't too bad, but rain would make it awkward). Room was a bit smelly, but most pet friendly rooms are and that's fair (I'm sure many dogs make a mess, but I would rather still have the option of allowing pets stay in a smelly room than no pets allowed)

Rooms were clean and comfortable beds. There was a queen and a single bed and a small kitchenette. Reception staff were friendly and check-in experience was smooth. My main negatives are there is no on-site car park. Parking is at nearby Canberra centre or Constitution Place at a cost both are short walk in the elements. My booking specified 3 people per room and there was only 2 of everything like cups, crockery etc. Basement laundry is coin operated and gym is well equipped and clean.

A shout out to a hotel chain which is pet friendly! Most are not which is frustrating. Sebel Civic was a great choice for our family of four adults and our dog. We stayed while travelling to and from our holiday destination and it was a good choice. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. And our dog loved his bed!

Great business hotel but I wouldn't stay here for a holiday. The rooms were mainly clean, the bed was comfy, the shower had great water pressure and it was quiet. So for a business trip it was perfect, but the room was very basic. The tv doesn't have a casting function which was a big let down.

This accommodation fitted our needs. We managed to get a space in the limited parking out the back and checking was smooth. No restaurant here but it is well located for meal options. A lovely room that is great for a good night's rest. We would stay here again if the price was right.

The central location of the Sebel is its strong point as its within short taxi distances to many points of interest, walking distance to the massive Canberra Centre, cafes and restaurants otherwise it has little to distinguish it. All perfectly modern and clean but somewhat 'spartan'. No facilities to speak of and no customary hotel directory to tell you what is where, etc. Reception is not staffed at night so entry is via your room keycard and scanner. No breakfast facility and the little coffee shop in the corner of the building (not a Sebel venue) is hopeless. We ordered a simple chicken toastie on arrival to be told the chicken had to thaw out so it would be wait (we re-ordered). I had a mug for tea but my wife was told they'd run out of mugs so would a cup be OK? The place is small with only seating for around 10 and I counted just 7 mugs in use, so that was their total inventory. My wife's cup arrived as a paper takeaway. Forget it. But at least you can self-cater with a cooktop, microwave, etc. For those who care and those who'd rather not this hotel is 'dog friendly'. We spotted only one coming out of the lift and had no problematic encounters but frankly this is not a concept that excites. That said there's nothing wrong as such and the centrality is a winner but we find the 4 star rating a bit of a stretch.

Fantastic location, friendly staff and a very comfortable bed. Our suite had a small kitchen, modern bathroom and clean room. Aircon was great on those warm days recently. Carpet in hallways seems outdated but still clean. Window leaked water during heavy rain storm, reported to reception and was advised they knew about the leaks already...Parking around the back was ok if you only need to be picked up or dropped off. Close to shops and food. Would stay here again. Thanks.

My experience was disappointing. While there were a couple of positives, several issues made the stay very unpleasant.
The bed was comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure, which I appreciated after a long day. However, these were the only real highlights.
When we arrived, the carpet in our room was damp, likely from a recent cleaning with dirty water, as our room was at the end of the hallway. Additionally, the room had a strong, unpleasant smell of what seemed to be pet urine. The odor was overwhelming, made it difficult to relax, and even caused my eyes to water. Although the listing mentioned the hotel was pet-friendly, it was buried in small print and easy to miss. Being allergic to cats and dogs, this made my stay extremely uncomfortable.
When I called reception about the smell, the only option offered was a room spray to mask the odor. I had to plead for it, and when it was finally brought, it only made the smell worse. Since we were on the 4th floor with no balcony or windows to open, airing out the room wasn’t an option. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked, so we had no choice but to endure it.
Other issues included a broken bedside light on the left side, which left the room poorly lit and forced us to rely on the harsh main light. Housekeeping also replaced our towels but left us one short. When I called reception, I was told they were running low on towels due to delays in laundry delivery. We had to wait two hours before an additional towel was brought to our room.
Overall, while the bed and shower met basic expectations, the cleanliness and maintenance left much to be desired. I wouldn’t consider staying here again unless significant improvements are made.
