The hotel is known for its comfortable beds and good location. It also offers kitchenette facilities that are suitable for various purposes. The hotel has a good parking area, and it is great to be able to bring a dog, as there is a great park diagonally opposite.

However, some guests have commented that the furnishing in the lounge/dining space is weird and not made for human comfort. The lounge chairs are also inadequate and very uncomfortable. Additionally, the marble coffee table was broken when some guests arrived.

The apartment was nice. Good location. Good parking.
Kitchenette facilities were suitable for our purposes.
Comfortable beds. One very small bathroom between 4 people.
Furnishing was weird and not made for human comfort - only 2 uncomfortable stools at the dining table for a family of four. The lounge chairs were also inadequate and very uncomfortable. The marble coffee table was broken when we arrived.
It was great to be able to bring our dog - great park diagonally opposite.
I would stay here again….. although i hope they replace the furniture in the lounge/dining space !

Great room, spacious and very nicely decorated with comfortable, attractive furniture. Large bathroom and rain shower head. Everything you need for a very comfortable stay - galley kitchen, table, desk, etc with a lovely view through the trees and overlooking the internal garden. No balcony.

Great place for the dog they do have underground parking is a extra $25 per night and the height limit is 2.1 metres which our ute was just over. Managed to get a spot out the front. There is a 2 hour parking limit throughout the day though. Once in the rooms was impressed with how they prepared it for the pooch and ourselves. The bed was big enough for our wolfhound and they accept all dogs. Would recommend to stay if you had dogs as there is a close park across the road to take them for a walk.

The construction near by makes it unpleasant before 3 pm. Room was pretty tiny. I would not stay again. Plenty of better places. Zero atmosphere compared to other Sebels. Parking and access difficult. Rooms well equipped. You get the idea.

We chose this dog friendly hotel because we were staying in Canberra to attend the Floriade Dogs Day Out with our pooch. We stayed in a large self contained suite on the Mezzanine level with a lovely view of a beautiful courtyard. It had everything you could possibly need if you want to be self sufficient during your stay (just no room service). We chose to eat out and were spoilt for choice with so many dog friendly cafe's and restaurants, all within a few minutes walk. The hotel is located across the street from a large park where dogs were able to run and play unleashed. Parking is under the hotel at $25 per day with a lift that takes you directly up to the hotel's Reception desk. The gentlemen at Reception who checked us in and out were warm and welcoming and we really look forward to staying at this hotel again.

We stayed here with our dog and had a wonderful experience. It’s more like a serviced apartment, just on the smaller side, rather than a traditional hotel. It had everything we needed and more, plus the location is fantastic!

I had a week long stay here. The hotel is located just off the lake and is convenient to most places in Canberra. I was also pleased with the kitchen, although disappointed in the size of the room as I thought I had booked one that would be slightly larger.

In any case, nearly all of the good qualities of this hotel were outweighed by my on arrival experience on my first night. I am a young woman, travelling alone. I would consider myself to be a very capable and frequent traveller, however, I was completely caught off guard by the check-in system established by this hotel should you arrive after hours.

If you arrive to the hotel after 10pm, you can not check in and the front door of the hotel is locked. I was never told this, nor is this published on any of the confirmation emails I received or on the All.com app. So when I arrived at 10:40pm, after a delay in my journey, I was quite worried about how to get in.

To the right of the door on the wall, not clearly signposted, is a small lockbox with a plaque that reads “Please call this number or this number if you arrive out of hours.” This policy assumes the person checking in has service and is not from out of the country with no signal or service. I have a UK number, but I tried several times to call both numbers, and I was not able to connect.

For 30 minutes, I was stood alone, in a city I’m unfamiliar with, outside the hotel with no way to get in, no car, and no help. Up the street, I saw a man pass by on his way home from the gym. With no other option, I ran after him to ask if I could borrow his phone to call the number so that I could get access to my room key. While the man was very nice and helpful, this should never have had to happen and I should never have had to be in that situation.

On top of this, when I finally was able to ring the number on the lockbox, I was asked to provide another credit card and all of the details on this credit card. Keep in mind, I am borrowing a strangers phone and he is just a few metres away (he was kind enough to walk away). Why is a credit card classified as an identity check when you already have one on file? Why am I made to read these numbers allowed in a public space?

Finally, after “verifying my identity” I was given the lockbox code to get my hotel key which would open the front door and my room. Why couldn’t this have been emailed to me if I hadn’t arrived within hours? Why was the “out of hours” check-in not communicated to me or anywhere on the website?

I was put in a vulnerable and uncomfortable position by this hotel due to their out of hours check in policy. I sincerely hope this mechanism is fixed for any future visitors. I have contacted the hotel to notify them of my situation and to ask that they fix this in future, but it has been a week and I have still not heard back.

Again, while the room was nice, this situation put me on edge and I will not be staying here again if the check in policy is not amended to account for situations like this.
