The volunteers here are awesome, so knowledgeable. It was cloudy and sprinkling when we wanted to go but made the decision to take the risk. The experts there still managed to get us a great view of the moon, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus. Even when the clouds were covering, we were told stories and facts that were very entertaining. I recommend going even if the sky looks covered. Do take some insect repellent though, a lot of mosquitos once sunsets.

Oh and there are no card or EFTPOS facilities so if you want to donate, take cash, we didn't know and felt bad that we couldn't donate.

We visited this observatory in December 2024 and it was such an enriching experience for all of my family including children . The volunteers were super helpful and knowledgeable. We were able to see celestial bodies and galaxies . The volunteers were wonderful and they shared so much of their knowledge with us. The overall atmosphere of this place was very positive and we had a lot of fun learning about astronomy and looking at stars.
It was a perfect night.

The folks there knew their stuff! I came not really knowing what to expect on a cloudy night and we had a great chat until some more people arrived and we went outside to see the stunning Southern Aurora. All the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to answer questions. 10/10, I'll definitely plan to go again!
