I didn’t stay at The Park Hotel, and want to comment only on the pub, which I frequented three times during a recent visit to the area.
My first time was a Thursday night, with the cheap schnitzel and beer offer. The place was packed, and deservedly so. An ok schnitzel, with a beer included, for a competitive price. The atmosphere was lively and friendly.
I returned on the Friday, and sampled from the wide range of beers on tap, while enjoying some live music that wasn’t too intrusive.
Went back again on Saturday night, and found the music from the DJ far too loud. It was mainly family groups there, and no one was dancing, or even sitting in the large middle area in front of the speakers. Perhaps the wrong time and place for club-style entertainment.
The music was too intense for me to relax and enjoy my meal (a crispy chicken burger, which was tasty, and chips, which were ok, but already getting cold when I got them), let alone stay for a second beer. I guess I’ll keep future visits to week nights.

Disgusting food and service. Came in for breakfast and ordered a bacon and egg roll, was swimming in oil so I asked for a new one which the staff relunctantly made. Also swimming in oil even after I tried to soak it up with napkins, as well as a hair! Then was denied a refund. Very disappointed

Booked for 3 nights, but checked out after 2 nights, we should have left after 1 night. Our first night, very noisy kids playing in the car park very close to our front door, my daughter asked them to be quiet, shortly afterwards they kicked our units front door (Very hard) twice, my daughter had a word with the kids parents who were drinking in the adjoining bar, but their attitude was bad and unapologetic, reception was shut so there wasn't much we could do. I e mailed the owner whom we met the next morning, he apologized and said it has never happened before. We assumed it was a one off thing and guessed this will not happen again. As the room we were in, also had a back door that didn't open up to the outside, we asked for a room change - the receptionist was very helpful and gave us a choice of 2 rooms, we chose the first floor again as we really needed a place with outside access. That night we had the kids kicking in our door again, by this stage we knew the manager worked at the nearby pub - we complained to him, and police were called, they came and took our report - they were kind but admitted there wasn't much they could do. I sent a message to the owner but received no reply or apology - bad service! We checked out the next day, didn't feel safe at this hotel anymore. If you are going to stay here I recommend you don't stay on the first floor rooms next to the car park. We paid for 2 nights here - should have checked out after the first night. We were offered a second floor room, after the first night but refused it as couldn't imagine we'd have this terrible experience 2 nights in a row. The owner really should have reached out after second night in a row of getting our door kicked in - if any of my guests had such an experience they'd be getting money back. The receptionist was helpful and we appreciate her care and kindness.

My family attended the park restaurant for dinner on a Monday night. We saw the kids eat free on the sign on the front of the building and on the website. When my husband went to order, he was told they don't do the 'kids eat free' during the summer. Even though it's advertised on the front of the building and on their website. I was told by the waitress they would let management know, and they can't honour the deal.

There were a few other families who also asked about why they weren't honouring the deal they were advised. The staff was very rude and even accused me of swearing at her.

Our food was good and it came out quickly. There was a male waitress who was brilliant and polite. The waitress, who I spoke to regarding the deal, served 1 meal to us, and threw it on the table, and walked away.

Me and my partner stayed here for 1 night and found it a bit underwhelming for what we paid for. We were told there was free wifi which wasn't working after we had to call and ask about it and had also not been given a heads about it. We also had found mold in the bathroom above the shower. Aswell as found dirty cups inside the kitchenette in the cupboard. I understand that customers are meant to wash the dishes but might be an idea to get your staff to check just to make sure and avoid any upset customers in the future. Highly disappointed and disgusted.

Lovely place for a quick getaway close to everything. I stayed in a room that was clean and tidy. Definitely worth it if you're looking for a nice place to visit. Walking distance to the bakery, Spar store and little restaurants in the close proximity. I will definitely be returning to this little gem. Thanks guys

The food at the Park Hotel is pub grub, that's a given. We waited over an hour for 2 burgers. (Sign at the bar said ' wait time 45 mins'). There were people in front of us who ordered after us but received their meals well before us. There were four guys running round the kitchen like headless chooks, dancing to the live music. I'm glad they were having a good time. They couldn't organise a 'piss-up' in a brewery. We had almost given up on getting our order, I had to get up and ask when it was possible we might get something to eat. I was far from being in a good mood by the time the stuff arrived. As Jeremy Clarkson says, "how hard can it be?" The place wasn't even busy! Definitely won't be back!
