I had the honour to be Monique and Charlie’s first guest. Their attention to detail is amazing. The bed was so comfy and warm. The view of the night sky through the Velux skylight while in bed was so relaxing. The kitchen is fully kitted and provides everything you need to make gourmet meals if that’s your thing. This place is an experience you won’t forget. Centrally located, great walks and a very friendly pub provides the complete package. I can’t wait to go back and escape again.

I am in awe of Mon and Charlie's beautiful restoration of the Old School House in Balhannah. Although l live in the Adelaide Hills, l would love to be treated to a romantic stay for a special occasion ( HINT HINT). Being a retired teacher, the idea of staying in an old school house is very appealing.Beautiful decor, the ensuite to die for, and l love the stairs to the mezzanine. The perfect setting for "THE WEDDING NIGHT."
Enjoy the ambience of the woodfire on a winter night while sipping a wine or huddled around the firepit in the garden. Close to Karkoo, lots of wineries, pubs, cafes, walks, and the Amy Gillett bike way (if you're energetic). Regardless of your reason for a getaway, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your stay.

We stayed for our wedding anniversary, it is such a beautiful well renovated piece of Balhannah history , very romantic x our hosts Charlie and Mon were so accommodating, easy walk to the Balhannah pub and local shops , beautiful!
