Absolutely amazing staff. Gorgeous atmosphere, that's relaxed but modern. Food, lovely and still so affordable. And my father loved the 3 TVs with footy on them😅 Simply put, a gorgeous pub with exceptional service.
Thank you for having the 12 of us. Everyone was blown away by the charm of this gorgeous pub. It's beautiful in every aspect. Sorry we were a bit loud. But thank you. We loved it, and will be back on smaller scales

I have eaten at the Monty many times over many years. Tonight was a low point. My daughter ordered the sausage and chips from the kids menu. None of us expected a single bland sausage with 15 chips and supermarket tomato sauce, and for $12?!

Delicious food, a great selection of wine, and a great team looking after you. It’s got a lively atmosphere on a Friday night and pumping out some old bangers. Always lovely evening at The Montague. Gorgeous sticky date pud to finish!

Nice casual pub for a Sunday lunch. Great friendly service. Food came out pretty quick, piping hot and nice portions.

I got the Sunday roast which was beef. It was decent but would have liked a bigger portion but I am a big eater. The Yorkshire pudding was quite dense compared to others I have had (I’m from the UK), the sides were cooked perfectly, it was delicious.

The desserts were all very well made. Between our table we got the full menu choice. Sticky date pudding, apple crumble, crème brûlée, chocolate pudding. Very generous portions and the hot desserts came out piping hot. Very yummy. All would be a good choice.

Really welcoming pub that captures all the natural night in the afternoon. Nice and lively atmosphere with patrons spilling into the outside tables, and a real locals vibe. A good variety on the menu but maybe slightly on the speedier side for what you get. I did enjoy my fish burger and Stacey enjoyed her beef burger, although might have both been better with chunky chips.

We were a party of four and booked a table for Friday night as it is a popular venue. The atmosphere was really good and cheerful. We had drinks at the bar while waiting for our table to be ready and then ordered two beef burgers, one parmi and a fish burger (unbattered as I wanted it). They brought a generous plate of mixed olives which we really enjoyed while we were waiting for our dishes. We were served in a timely manner short after and we all found our dishes really tasty and well presented. Recommend.

The Montague Hotel is a great local pub in the back streets of South Melbourne, a great position for a relaxed catch up with friends. Good seating options inside and tables outside too. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Drinks list is very good and the food menu here is decent with good variety and quality. We shared a few dishes and none disappointed with good flavours, great serving sizes, fresh, hot and just very well done. Will definitely be back to enjoy this place
