Visited here a few Saturdays ago, during the market around Lake Wendouree.
We got a seat outside on the decking, which looked out to the lake and the atmosphere here was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, and the best part of my meal was the very fresh orange juice I ordered. It's been a while since I've had such fresh orange juice, it was such a little thing but the highlight of my meal. It was a wonderful experience here, well done. 👏🏻

Booked online was pretty easy.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
A clean and pleasant atmosphere.
Ordered the breakfast pizza. Was very nice, just managed to finish the 7 inch. Good value in these tough times. Mains either priced average or cheaper.

Ordered the prawn twisters $15 and steak with lettuce and chips $42.

Had the prawn twisters at other restaurants and normally they had a medium size prawn fried in batter.

At lake view, the prawn twisters were 4 micro prawns fried in batter. So you're eating more batter than prawn.

The steak was ok.... I think it was the cut that let it down compared to other steak place in Ballarat. The steak had a few gristle. So some bites were nice and tender and others were tough and chewy. Also the steak was slightly thin compared to other places in Ballarat.

Impressive location and view. Pretty much on the banks of lake Wendouree you will find The lake View Hotel. We decided to have our meal here on this busy weekend for Ballarat with the Spring Fest in full swing with carparks at a premium. You can dine inside or out, with plenty of seating with both. The staff quickly showed us to our tables and took our orders. It was obvious that some of the team really enjoyed their jobs and interaction with the customers, however others had left their smiles and warm welcomes at home for the day, which was a shame. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari which came with breadcrumbs, chips, salad, tartare sauce & a lemon wedge. It was a large serve that was very tasty and didn’t disappoint. Along with this, I ordered an orange juice which was freshly made and was sensational. If you are are after an impressive location to have a meal, you should consider this The Lake View Hotel.

My family and I thoroughly enjoy everything The Lake View Hotel have to offer.
We visit frequently and have found that the staff are always ready to greet us and consistently provide the highest standard of customer service.

Pleasant venue with views over the lake. We arrived around brunch time and decided to try the breakfast food. The pancakes were ok, came with berries and icecream. My partner tried the shakshuka which he enjoyed very much. The atmosphere is very group and family friendly with plenty of room to spread out. The menu has all the expected offerings, with something for everyone.

Breakfast was abysmal. I ordered Eggs lake view and they came out to be nothing like they were described and absolutely not worth the price. it was “tasteless” and moreover the quantity was next to nothing. two poached eggs on top two hash brown with a slice of tomato. The sauce tasted sour and weird, as if it was out of date. my friend ordered chilli scrambled, it came with a bread which was stale, and again tasteless food. I couldn’t finish mine at all. How embarrassing for a bistro that claims to be of such great quality. Very disappointing. Gave feedback to the manager, who was very accepting and apologetic.
