The Lake George Hotel has a great outdoor area and playground, making it a good spot for a casual meal. However, the food can be quite hit and miss. Portions are generally decent, but consistency seems to be an issue.

I was there with a group of eight about a month ago, and unfortunately, the experience was pretty poor. The pumpkin and prawn risotto was essentially just pumpkin risotto with a single prawn sliced in half and placed on top. The beef and Guinness pie was overwhelmingly salty, and a rare steak was served well-done. To top it off, the rosé was warm, and the beer was flat.

I’ve had good meals here in the past, but this visit left a lot to be desired. It feels like a bit of a lottery—sometimes great, sometimes average at best.

The food and the service were very nice and they accommodated me and my husband even though we didn’t have a booking. Eating by the fireplace was really great especially for a cold night.

They microwaved my steak.i ordered surf and turf well done steak. When it came out is was whitish grey. I pointed it out to the waiter who said “you ordered well done” like that’s normal. It was barely even seared. I spat out about half of the steak as I gave up chewing on the flavourless and exhausting meat.

The sauce would have been nice accompanied by some mash and beans because it is very salty. Instead it was accompanied by over salted chips and salad drowned in Italian dressing. I ate about 10% of the food I was served.

I gave them 2 stars because the waiter was nice and funny.but he was obviously wrong about them having award winning steak.

Came for the award winning steaks but was informed that they now use a different supplier.
Very nice beef still but was sent back to the kitchen as not how we asked for it to be cooked. It came back anyway and told it was how we wanted it. So don’t bother complaining as you’ll just get it overdone AND cold.
In summary, good beef but you can cook it better yourself so up to you if you want to pay top dollar. Cheers

Worst place i have ever been to. The lady at the bar is a bully and the manager in the dining was working on his laptop in the dining area. This guy is meant to be leading by example to the staff he is charge. Just appalling behaviour. The young waiting staff should be promoted and the head manager sacked. Hope the $150 i left for the staff members who actually looked after me got the tip I left them and he didn't pocket the money.

Simply appalling behaviour by about three staff. Shame 🫠 on you. You should treat visitors to Bungendore more respectfull😢😱🙏

Today I ordered one of the specials $36.
… grilled barramundi with asparagus and salad
I got 2 small pieces of tough asparagus about 5 cm each and a small salad. Fish was cooked nicely.

Adjoining restaurant - Treat travellers with contempt. Meal was good. However left tonight with a bad feeling in regards to the Woman at the door and doing table service.
