I stayed here during the Sydney Marathon and absolutely loved it. The place is clean, modern, and stylish — with a great vibe. It’s conveniently located near King’s Cross train station and within walking distance to beautiful Elizabeth Bay.

Although the bathrooms are shared, it was never an issue — they were always clean and well-maintained.

Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a comfortable and well-located spot in Sydney.

The Jensen was situated in a great location to access Sydney sights. The overall value was pretty good, but we found the room a little underwhelming. It lacked atmosphere and the shared bathroom was a little annoying as it was busy and not the cleanest. The room was very noisy with street cleaners often waking us up as well as noisy guests. The balcony was nice and a good way to soak in the surrounding neighbourhood ambience. A smart TV , some room mood lighting and complimentary ear plugs would be a welcome addition and elevate the hotel from ok to great.

The Jensen Potts Point Hotel offers a pleasant stay in terms of cleanliness and design. The rooms are spotless, as are the shared toilets, and the interiors are thoughtfully styled with a modern yet cozy touch. Guests have access to convenient amenities such as tea and coffee-making facilities, a microwave, and a communal area, which adds to the comfort. The location is a strong highlight—set in Potts Point, it is surrounded by charming coffee shops, convenient marts, and premium yet quiet restaurants, making it easy to enjoy the local atmosphere.

However, the hotel’s structure presents a notable drawback for light sleepers. It appears to be built primarily from wood, which means noise travels easily. Doors opening and closing, footsteps from the rooms above, and creaking stairs are all noticeable, especially at night. For those who fall asleep easily, this might not be an issue, but for noise-sensitive guests, it could be disruptive.

Overall, The Jensen Potts Point Hotel is a clean, stylish, and well-located choice with great amenities, but the noise factor should be carefully considered before booking. It’s better suited for guests who are not sensitive to sound.

Convenient located along the main strip of Potts Point heading towards the promenade where the Navy base is. It is a 10-15 min walk from Kings Cross station. Check-in instructions was fairly straight forward for after hours (entry via keypad and key-code combination to unlock lockbox to access room keys).

After hours support from Hotel Challis, which is located about 400m down the road (first left). The reception were friendly and helpful when I had locked myself out from my room. Shared bathroom, but had plenty of linen and amenities for personal grooming and hygiene. Double room with balcony overlooking the street.

Just keep in mind there are homeless that can kick off at night and echo throughout the area, so if you’re a light sleeper this can be disruptive and use caution when coming back to the accommodation. It is a short walk from the riverside and is surrounded by local shops and restaurants.

Overall, it is a suitable accommodation option for those looking for a comfortable stay at a decent price — prices subject to change throughout the year.

The building is not accessible for people who are disabled, elderly, etc.
on arrival you’re greeted with steps into building, and a reception person who does nothing to assist with luggage into building.
Once you enter, you will have one or two flights of stairs. (We have luggage, having just gotten off a cruise ship).
The initial feeling was a let down, both with access, and zero help with entry. IF I could cancel and rebook, I’d of done so.
Glad I’m only here 2 nights, then go home.

An excellent hotel in a convenient area of Sydney! The Jensen Potts Point pleasantly surprised us with its coziness, cleanliness, and stylish atmosphere. The rooms are compact but comfortable, the beds are cozy, and there’s a kettle with tea and coffee. The shared bathroom is always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great value for money – we will definitely be back!

Ostensibly well appointed rooms would be far better served with better lighting! A couple of cheap bedside lamps would go a long way to ameliorating the floodlight effect of the single high-lumen ceiling light that leaves you feeling you’re being spotlighted in a prison yard. So maybe also just cut down on the wattage of the room lights?

Otherwise a clean and comfortable stylish stay. Great location on Potts Point sufficiently removed from the Kings X backpacker joints and sleazy bits. I’m glad I paid a bit extra for a balcony room - nice fit coffee in morning.

The welcoming receptionist after-hours was a bit curt and not very helpful, but I hope he was an exception to the usual staff here.

Would stay again, but for heaven’s sake get a bedside lamp!

Overpriced for what it is, a glorified hostel. Mirrors were dirty, had a single glass instead of two (there were two mugs though), lack of sound proofing (you can hear every door open and close on your floor). There are only shared bathrooms which I did not even realise when booking since the bathroom pictures were included in the preview - the pictures make it look a lot nicer than it actually is. Aircon was noisy and not very cold, hangers hung above where the kettle/tea was so I'm not even sure how you were meant to hang any item of clothing there. Parking on offer is $33, and that ticket didn't even work and the carpark was charging $30 (Sat evening entry, Sun morn exit). If you're looking for a bed to sleep in and the location suits, that's about all the reasons why you should consider staying here, otherwise Challis (their sister hotel) is a much better option for a staycation/date night.
