Experienced many times now. Working our way through the extensive choices. Food never disappoints! Big menu and quick service, presented well and delicious. Food all delivered together. Cooked extremely well. Look forward to next time!

I'm impressed by the steaks here. They seem to get good cuts and know how to cook them.

Apart from that, the menu is pretty extensive, ranging from pasta to seafood as well as the standard pub food favourites. The dining room is pretty large, but it can still fill up. Generally, the kitchen seems to be able to keep up, but it can get a little slow when they get really full.

A good dinner in Newcastle. The venue was a little small so definitely book in advance so you won’t be disappointed. The food service was a little slow but the food was delicious. The lamb rump was excellent with great sauce and sides.
The parmi was as expected so was happy with that. The hot air con was very strong though which was a little uncomfortable.

The food quality at the Gates hotel was very poor. My family and I went there for a dinner and we ordered chicken schnitzel, american bbq slow cooked brisket, and duck ragù, which were the specials on the board. None of the dishes were hot enough, the chicken schnitzel was just warm, the chips were cold, and the brisket was barely warm. The duck ragù tasted alright, but it was also not the temperature that you enjoy a meal at. The staff were friendly and helpful, but they could not make up for the disappointing food. The atmosphere of the place was open, not packed together, but the lighting was a little dark, kind of like they wanted to create an intimate restaurant vibe, but it did not suit a hotel. We felt like we wasted our money and time at this place. Maybe we were unlucky and they had a bad day.

Visited for the first time tonight. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our meals arrived quickly even though the venue was quite busy. We had 4 meals ( 2 snitzels, 1 fish/chips and 1 burger) and spent just under $100 which was great. Meals were a good size and delicious. Will definitely visit again.
