I had a wonderful stay at The Entrance Backpackers. Jonah, the innkeeper, made me feel welcome right from the start — friendly, approachable, and always ready to help with local tips. The place itself is spotlessly clean and well maintained. I really appreciated how safe and secure it felt, with clear rules in place that keep everything organised and respectful. It’s not a party hostel, but a place where you can relax, meet people in a welcoming environment, and feel at home.If you’re looking for a great value stay in The Entrance — clean, safe, with a warm and well-run atmosphere — I would highly recommend The Entrance Backpackers. Jonah’s hospitality really makes the difference!

Such relaxed place to stay for my last couple weeks in Australia thank you Tanya for welcome feeling and weekly rate. Hostel is clean with nice fully equipped kitchen and be aware of no alcohol policy which wasn’t a problem. One day will be back very convenient location close to shops bus stop and restaurants 👏

This is not intended to be a bad review, but rather a constructive reflection that I hope helps improve the space for future guests. It’s important for shared accommodations to be safe and comfortable for everyone.

During my stay, on the night of the 19th of April, there was a disturbing incident around 2 a.m. A guest became frustrated by two others who were snoring. He began hitting either his bed or theirs—I can’t recall exactly—and started shouting and cursing aggressively. The situation escalated quickly and felt very unsettling. I genuinely felt scared.

I messaged the property to report what was happening, but unfortunately received no response. That lack of support made me wonder: what if it had been something even more serious? There would have been no one to help.

While I understand that snoring is something out of our control, the aggressive and possibly paranoid behavior of this guest was unacceptable. Hostels should be safe spaces where everyone feels secure. Sadly, that night was not that for me.

That being said, the hostel itself is very welcoming, clean, and cozy. In the morning, I had a lovely chat with the woman at reception—she was incredibly friendly. I mentioned that I work at a hostel in Sydney, and it was a nice, warm exchange.

All in all, I hope this feedback helps create an even better experience for future travelers. And who knows—maybe we’ll meet again someday.

INCREDIBLY, UTTERLY NICE AND QUIET!!!

I have chronic pain and therefore I have a very light sleep. In any other hostel I've EVER been to, there's always, inevitably, a scandalous party of guests, either drunk, or high as a kite, coming into rooms making a racket, with no-one to complain to, late at night.

In every other hostel I have EVER stayed, people eat in the rooms, even if it's supposedly forbidden, which makes the room smell revolting, and they inevitably leave the place in equally revolting conditions (when not at home, some people can become real pigs, it's disgusting).

NOT IN THIS HOSTEL.

For starters, drugs and alcoholic drinks are banned inside the property. Food and drink is banned in the rooms. I guess you could have a SEALED water bottle, but you can always just go to the kitchen to have a drink of water.

The point is, If you get caught drinking or doing drugs inside the hostel, you WILL be kicked out, no questions asked. There is ZERO TOLERANCE on intoxicated people (or perfectly sane people, for that matter) coming into the property making a racket and disturbing the other guests. This Zero Tolerance policy keeps the place nice and quiet for everyone to enjoy.

After 10 pm, there is a QUIET TIME policy. Since then, and until 7 am, this place is like a monastery. Again, there is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on anyone annoying or disturbing sleeping guests.

The perfectly equipped kitchen is spotless: cleanliness is not encouraged, it's DEMANDED in this place. Same with the bedrooms and the bathrooms.

Australia is ridiculously expensive, and paying $55 Australian Dollars for one bed in an UTTERLY CLEAN shared bedroom, with an equally SQUEAKY CLEAN shared bathroom, is truly a steal.

Jonah and Tanya are an incredible owner and manager, respectively.

I came to the Central Coast to visit a friend about 20 minutes from here, and it worked out really well for me: I strongly recommend to anyone coming to the Central Coast, to make base here at The Entrance Backpackers, and then grab a taxi or Uber to your nearby destination, if your going there just for the day and intend to enjoy a drink or two: it's worth the price and the conditions.

I was only going to stay for a day, but I was having such a good and peaceful time here, that I decided to make a mini-holiday out of it and ended up staying one more night: I slept better than in my own house.

I guarantee it, YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD, PEACEFUL TIME, here at The Entrance Backpackers.

THANK YOU GUYS @ The Entrance Backpackers, for the perfect time I had here.
