I’ve had a wonderful experience at The Cottage, enjoying the delicious food, refreshing drinks, and great music. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. However, one small downside was the presence of insects in the outdoor areas, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. If the restaurant could find a way to manage this issue, it would undoubtedly improve the ambiance and make the outdoor setting even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot, and I’ll definitely return.

My brother-in-law and I were on the hunt to find a venue for my sister and his engagement dinner. We were looking for somewhere that had a quieter/private area that wasn't super loud. I came across The Cottage after only a few google searches so we decided to give it a shot.
We called prior and were told we would be able to come in a set up whatever we needed. I arrived early to set up our table in the Atrium, Jess and her staff came over multiple times offering to help and fetch us things. They were all so enthusiastic and made us even more excited about the occasion.
Overall, the staff were amazing (especially Jess!), the food was great - as well as serving sizes, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I'm already looking forward to going back!

Friendly wait staff, nice vibe and good food at reasonable prices. The spanner crab spaghettini and eye fillet are highlights. Happy hour cocktail spritz a refreshing bonus.

Located on the main road. Very beautiful front. Came here on Valentine's day. Excellent food and friendly staff. Spacious inside. Had to wait quite a bit to pay because their Eftpos machine wasn't working.

I so wanted to love this restaurant.. the drinks were great. The prawn starter was amazing. However the steaks really let us down. They weren’t flavourful, and the accompanying sauces were watery and lacked taste. Such a disappointment because this is a beautiful restaurant.

I went to The Cottage Balmain on last Saturday afternoon to have brunch with my friends.
We had an outside table which was nice and comfortable for a big group with children.
I had one scallop, the steak frites and one iced latte. Food was luscious and more to Asian taste.
My friends had nourish salad, crab spaghetti, duck Maryland and skull island tiger prawns,… They loved it. However, the kids were not happy with their orange juice, and staff were nice when asking them to change to different drinks. All of us liked our dessert, ice cream and tiramisu.
The atmosphere in this area is cozy and friendly.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at The Cottage, Balmain to celebrate my son's engagement, and the experience was truly wonderful. Before our visit, I reached out to the restaurant to inquire about accessibility, as my elderly mother has difficulty with stairs. Jess, who took my call, was incredibly accommodating and ensured we could use an alternate entry with minimal stairs. Her thoughtfulness and care left a lasting impression.

The lunch itself was beautiful—delicious food, a charming venue, and impeccable service. A special mention to Bella, who looked after our table with such attention to detail, ensuring everything was perfect throughout our visit.

We were having such a good time we forgot to take photos - we got one though - lovely arancini.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Cottage, Balmain for its outstanding hospitality and exceptional dining experience.
