Wow!
I dropped in to relax whilst my hire car (electric) was being charged nearby…
It was 1:50 pm on a weekday and there were no other customers. I explained my situation (not needing a meal, but a drink/slice would be great).
I was offered a seat - access to internet and the interaction was kind but not intrusive.
Given the food service had completed, the Head Chef/Restaurant Manager (Colin) offered to show me around.
The whole setup was impressive - superbly clean cool room, kitchen and surrounds gave me great deal of confidence to return for a meal on a future trip.
The artwork on display (all local) was astounding and on the whole, a professionally run/managed and presented restaurant…
I am sure to be return!

My friend and I had the perfect dinner on Saturday night at The Cottage. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and the service outstanding. We, as always, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Definitely one of the best dining experiences one can have. We look forward to dining there again soon.

My thanks to the Staff at The Cottage for making my Husband's birthday something really special. The service from the warm welcome, attentiveness throughout the meal and the farewell at the door was genuine, kind and thoughtful. The food was beautifully presented and while every dish was delectable, the venison was the standout dish with my husband telling everyone it was the best he has ever had. They also have an impressive wine and spirits list enabling us to sample a few of the local wines. We will be talking about the meal at The Cottage for years to come.

We had an overnight stay in Scone and had dinner at The Cottage. The food, Zucchini Flowers, Eye Fillet / Mulloway / Basque Cheesecake were all as expected from a fine dining restaurant. Wonderful food, excellent wine list, the service was faultless, and the atmosphere was warm and intimate. Loved it!

An incredible place with amazing food.

I’m pretty fussy and I could easily find some small fault with most restaurants + cafes. I have zero to complain about 🫣

Portions were very generous and the food is superb. Staff are really attentive and made recommendations based on the questions I asked.

The fireplace was wonderful on a cold Scone morning of 6 degrees.

This place came highly recommended by a local, along with a couple of other places but I love this place so much, I came back twice in one day!

Can’t wait to come back to Scone!

Visited for lunch, food and service was amazing. Was excited to come here for some time finally made it up from Sydney to dine here.
The food reflects the chef's passion as our mains were memorable. We had the rump steak (cooked perfectly medium rare) and the marrocan lamb neck (flavours complimented each other so well). Beer on tap was great and is a local pale ale. The desserts were to die for and coffee was great.

Service was good. Food was poor and expensive. Magpie gin cured ocean trout, tzatziki, salmon pearls starter was great. Char grilled Scotch Fillet Steak was full of gristle and fat and for $60.00 was way overpriced. Char grilled Eye Fillet Steak was barely OK but not juicy. Fries were not cooked fresh and were almost cold and hard. Plates had no garnish added. Sauté mushrooms, garlic & parsley side dish was very greasy, with too much oil added.
Warm water was served with no ice.
Restaurant was full of flies which got on the food and in the wine.
Would not recommend 'The Cottage' for a dining venue.

Came for brunch on a Saturday morning. Seated for 6 no worries.
Order from counter and take table number. Service is lovely and fast. Anzac cookies were the best I have ever had. Sweet and soft.
Avo on toast, tomato on toast, portabellos on toast.
Only criticism is the avo is avo mousse and the menu doesn't say that. It should. As I'm not a huge fan of that.
Has great local produce for sale. Jams, spreads, gin etc. Good selection of pastries in pastry cabinet. Also has baskets of lollies for the kids/travellers. Friendly staff. Great decor with lots of deer/country themed trinkets.
Best brunch in Scone.
