We had a terrific Friday night dinner at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Great food, friendly service and a cozy spot near the fire. The food is delicious, generous portions and reasonable prices. There's a good wine list and good selection of beers on tap. On a wintry night it was the perfect place to enjoy a meal. FYI - No split bills.

Some feedback regarding my recent dining experience at this restaurant.

I ordered the potato and beetroot gnocchi, and I must say it was absolutely amazing! I was a bit skeptical at first, but it turned out to be the best dish I've had in a long time. Although the portion appeared small, it was actually the perfect amount.

However, I did have a concern regarding our seating. When I made the reservation online, I was hoping to be placed in one of the more inviting sections of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were seated in a section that felt simple and cold, which contrasted with the warm atmosphere I was expecting. In hindsight, I should have called to address this prior to our visit, but it was okay as the food truly made up for the less than ideal location.

I also wanted to mention that the service was average. While it wasn't a major issue, there's always room for improvement in that area.

I look forward to returning and enjoying more delicious dishes.

7 (mostly old motorcycle riders) roll up for lunch with no booking — a rogue table of 7 — but we were welcomed like long-lost cousins at a family BBQ. The place was buzzing with good vibes, about three-quarters full for a Wednesday, which is basically peak hour in country terms. Fires were crackling, atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food? Fast, fresh and so good we considered ordering it all again just to be polite. A top-notch lunch stop — we’ll be back (and probably still without a booking).

A winter’s lunchtime at this place is worth the visit. Multiple open fires burning, good menu including wood fire pizzas. Good burgers fish & chips. Good wine selection & tap beer. Thank you

Fantastic!! Expect nothing less than exceptional for this great local..Put it high on your list if you're looking for a fabulous meal, super friendly staff, comfy decor, roaring fireplaces and a great local wine collection!

This is a classic country hotel with decades of history, now revamped with creative cuisine. But you can still get pub classics. Awesome array of small and large brewers on tap and great selection of local wines. Very friendly and attentive staff in wonderfully panelled rooms. Love this pub.

We are local to the area and booked a table for 4 adults for dinner recently, our meals were served very quickly and of the expected standard. The meals are expensive and we were happy to pay extra for good local produce. Unfortunately, the service was terrible .
Once our meals were served we were oblivious to all staff members and no further service was offered .Our plates and glasses were not cleared after more than half an hour of finishing our meals and we politely asked for them to be cleared. The staff member cleared only the plates and did not return for the glasses or to ask if we wanted anything else. The staff definitely weren’t run off their feet on the night.
