We booked The Boathouse for Valentines Day lunch, and were not disappointed!
The food, wine and service couldn’t have been better and the view really compliments the decor - inside and out.
The staff were friendly, informative and attentive. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, they were always there when we needed something to make our lunch memorable - but otherwise allowed us to enjoy the experience.
Definitely a restaurant we want to visit again next time we are in Canberra. It is perfect.

What a lovely restaurant located overlooking Lake Burley Griffin. Greeted with a smile at the door and shown to a lovely table with a prime window spot. Being a week day, there were few patrons making for a quiet intimate lunch. Our group of 4 decided to order 4 of each of the 3 courses to share. Not really a share menu restaurant but our request was accommodated. We decided on a serve of bread each and a side of potatoes and greens. Plates were bought to the table and we divided each into 4 portions. Can’t fault any of the dishes-all delicious. A small taste of each was a great way to go. Coffee to finish and we left feeling well fed. A wonderful way to spend a Friday, staff were all very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back.

This is a real gem of a restaurant. A ‘special occasion’ treat where the food presentation and flavours are exceptional. The staff are courteous and polite happy to have conversation if prompted and their food knowledge of what is being served adds to the experience.

Valentine's Day 2025. It's been years since I visited the Boathouse and my husband had never been. Superb food, great service and the best of company. We sat by the window, enjoyed the beautiful view and watched birds and clouds and the occasional jogger. Could not have asked for a better venue for our date.

Had an amazing time at The Boathouse! The barramundi was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The other dishes were just as incredible, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Sharan, the manager, was so welcoming and took the time to explain the dishes, which made the experience even better. Can’t wait to come back with friends to enjoy it all again. Highly recommend!

The service, atmosphere and food was simply amazing. A great view of the lake and many tables that get this view. Staff also had good knowledge of wines, and if they didn't they grabbed someone who did. Highly recommended. Our lunch was very special, even though we wanted dinner, it ended up just as fantastic! We enjoyed the three course, the scotch fillet and lamb were both tender, and the oysters delicious.
