Every year on my birthday, I treat myself to a dozen vanilla sponge cupcakes from Bakehouse Aldinga. I freeze them and enjoy one each day as a little indulgence. These cupcakes are absolutely perfect—light, fluffy, and delicious. The rest of their baked goods are just as amazing, from lamingtons to doughnuts and more. If you’re passing through or looking for a great spot for a day trip, I highly recommend stopping by Bakehouse Aldinga!

Creamy Chicken & Bacon Pie $7.50
(Pie of the month)

So, as soon as I got back from Melbourne last Wednesday, I went down to my local to grab a pie. Got their pie of the month.

The presentation of the pie looked fantastic. The pie had a nice golden look all over it the lid and sides looked excellent in colour. The pastry was nice and crisp to bite into, it wasn't too hard or soft. The pastry was baked perfectly, top, sides and base.

Slicing into the pie I could tell by the way it was cutting we're on a winner here. The pie looked really full. The filling looked great, creamy chicken and bacon. The filling tasted amazing, nice and creamy on the palate and wasn't too salty with the bacon, it was seasoned nicely. The chicken and bacon was cooked nicely (no fat or skin) and tasted fresh. The meat to gravy ratio was spot on. The consistency was pretty good too. As a whole the delicious pastry and filling it was a decent chicken pie. The serving temp was spot on and the pie would have held up fine under it's weight.

If you're down south of Adelaide pop into the bakery. They've got some delicious tasting pies and pastries. They've won plenty of awards at the various baking comps and the great Shaun Pyne from Pyney's Pie Reviews speaks highly of these guys.

Plenty of indoor dining space inside the bakery. Toilets located within the shopping centre.

Such a beautiful environment with beautiful people. I haven’t been anywhere this clean and sanitary before. Staff have gloves on preparing food and are constantly sanitising and washing hands. Lovely to see with the way the environment is going 👏👏 amazing food is a bonus

As I walked in there was a woman peeling potato’s at a table. Put me off buying food from there straight away. Have no idea if she was a staff member or someone who they get to peel a few potatoes . Didn’t look hygienic at all

My dad was the manager of this bakery. He unfortunately died in January, but regardless his wife has taken over and the bakery is still open! I know this might sound a bit biased, but the bread is fantastic! It’s the best bread I’ve ever eaten. I had in in 2019 and am still craving it! The bread up here in qld is so bad compared to this bakery bread! If everyone tried it, the bread in grocery stores would be put off market. They also have a wide variety of drinks, all different packed with flavour! Would TOTALLY recommend and would travel 22hrs just to have the bread again lol. It’s that good. Trust me. You can thank me later!

Oh their food glorious food! I've tried the rest, now will stick to the absolute best, The Aldinga BakeHouse! Variety, fresh, taste, vegan options, aroma, coffee, service all is 100%. The best dairy free donuts is Adelaide's best kept secret. Thanks for baking the best.
