My friends and I were excited to check out the newly refurbished Abercrombie—because who doesn’t love a rooftop? The setting itself has potential; the awning and furniture are charming, but it’s quickly realised that no one has mapped out what it’s like to walk between tables when people are seated - there is a long high table with stools that makes you feel like you are being sat upon. The lack of air circulation was awful, and with zero breeze, investing in some fans for customer comfort seems like a no brainer that would make a world of difference.

However the service was the star of the show when listing disappointments. Despite being one of only two occupied tables, it took at least 20 minutes for anything to arrive once ordered — whilst three staff members stood around chatting behind the bar in full view of our table. Our bottle of Chandon sat sweating on the counter while two glasses were lazily polished instead. When we instead approached the bar to meet them halfway, the bartender seemed completely lost. Simple requests—like two jugs of ice for water (for me to fill myself, lest they give two thoughts to us sweltering in the heat outside) or three Tommy’s Margaritas—were met with a confused, almost shocked expression. The ā€˜margaritas’, priced $15ea, were laughable: I do wish I had a photo of what was a curious, unappealing warm, watery lime cordial with ice and a fresh lime.

As the sun set, the space became even more stifling, (still no air circulation whatsoever). We sat in pools of sweat whilst I had asked (a lovely food runner Davina) twice over half an hour for the awning to please be retracted—something any well-run venue should proactively manage.

I’ve been to places with young, inexperienced staff before, but this was next-level poor. The lack of care and attention to basic hospitality made for a genuinely terrible experience. I won’t be back, and I’ll be sure to steer my friends and colleagues elsewhere.

My favourite going out place in Sydney on Saturday

The crowds are always soooo welcoming so every time when I go out to Abercrombie, I end up making bunch of friends.
Good line up of djs and it’s open till 5am.
Price of the drinks are reasonable and staff/security guards are friendly.

Well what can I say more!

Fit out looks nice and the staff are friendly, but the food was horrific. It was the worst pasta I’ve had in a long time. The carbonara was dense and cakey and the pasta was really overcooked. I was able to pick the whole thing up like a hockey puck, and its consistency was far more similar to an omelette than a bowl of pasta.

What a great night for the Musical Bingo on the rooftop on Tuesday!

The whole experience was so fun from the amazing bartender JD who looked after us girls so well, the musical bingo with such a variation of songs that had us singing all evening and the very generous bar tabs for the winners of the bingo!

2 of our girls won prizes. The pizza was super delicious as well šŸ™‚

A huge thank you to Brendan for organising our booking. We have such a great night!

Pub that turns into a nightclub after 9 p.m. Great atmosphere on the ground floor with a good funktion 1 sound system. The lights combined with this sound system do provide a great sensory experience at this area of the club.

Various different promotors use this venue so it is best to check the schedule on their website. The photos below are from an event called ā€˜Maniac Love’

First floor is a smaller room. The sound system in here is questionable and could do with some improvement. There are also a few balconies on the first floor that are used as tables during the day time. They shut by 10pm due to noise restrictions.

The rooftop boasts a really nice cocktail
Bar and restaurant that is quite decent!

One of the best venue in Sydney for music and events (excluding large theatres), hands down. Phenomenal sound system, multi-level, fantastic staff, great vibe. I’ve seen some incredible DJ sets here and whoever books the talent here has clear passion and impeccable taste. If you’re in the city and aren’t sure what to do with your afternoon/evening, come to Abercrombie!

Cheeseburger was yummy. Service friendly and the venue very interesting how it's been incorporated into a multi tower development. Thank you

The Abercrombie boasts an amazing club space and public bar that serves a full pub menu alongside their scrumptious pizza by the slice.

The ambiance, decor, and food and drink selection of this establishment are truly exceptional. The Italian wood-fired pizzas are especially noteworthy, and their Happy Hour is a must-see in Sydney. You will not be disappointed with the pizza slices - there are so many options to choose from, including margherita, pepperoni, potato, zucchini, and prawns.

The slices are generously sized for only $6, which is definitely a steal in my opinion. The pizza itself is delicious so close to the authentic. with a thin and crispy crust with good amount of cheese.

My personal favourite was the prawn pizza, which featured big, fresh, and succulent king prawns. The combination of prawns and cabbage was interesting and highly recommended.

In addition to the pizza, I also ordered the pesto basil pasta, which was equally delicious. Although the pesto flavor was a bit strong for my taste, I appreciated that it didn't have cream in it - unlike most places that mix pesto with cream. I enjoyed the pasta but was unable to finish it since I was already full from the pizza. The pasta was topped with fresh stracciatella cheese, which added a nice refreshing touch to the overall dish.
