I’m so extremely grateful & appreciative of Oran Park House for bringing so much joy and happiness to my Grandmother in the last couple of months of her life. When you think of having to move your loved one into full time care it can be daunting, sad, scary at the uncertainty. You instantly think of the old fashioned Nursing Homes but Oran Park House is anything but. It’s more like a resort for the elderly that just happens to offer around the clock care. They have daily group activities/entertainment, one on one activities, a movie room, hairdressing salon, dining rooms, conference rooms & the list goes on. The rooms are very large & modern, the courtyard is beautifully landscaped, the nurses/carers are amazing & so sweet. The smallest of concern they had they would call to advise us which was always welcome & greatly appreciated. When my Grandmother first moved in she was a little on the skeptical side as she’s only ever been with family, after a few days & a gentle push for her to interact with other residents who were now her neighbours & peers she was off & enjoying herself which was the most beautiful, heart warming thing to experience. It got to the point of when I’d arrive for my daily visit & shortly after a nurse/carer would come in & let my Grandmother know it was lunch time or activities time & she would tell me it was ok & I could go home now as she was going to lunch with friends. I never thought I’d see that moment but was so happy to see her enjoying herself & being more content then i had seen in sooooo many years. It was a BEAUTIFUL thing to see, I just wish she was still with us so she could experience many more amazing things at Oran Park House. Thank you to everyone there (especially Sumi) for making it feel like home for my Grandmother & for helping our family feel at ease with the decision we made ❤️
