We stopped here for Sunday lunch during our road trip to Victoria, and it was a delightful experience. The pub has a charming, old small-town vibe with a casual and welcoming ambiance. The cold beer on tap was refreshing, and the staff were friendly and attentive. While the menu was simple and basic, the food was tasty, well-prepared, and hit the spot perfectly. A great family stop for a relaxed meal on the road!

Went for a bite to eat and a couple of beers with the folks on the way back from a trip to Sydney.

I have to say, I’ve eaten some good steaks in my time from some excellent restaurants, but the T-bone I had at the Tarcutta Hotel is up there with the best of them. I’d heartily advise anyone in the area to drop in and order some food.

Also, if Toby the blue heeler is there, give him a tummy rub from me.

Just ate lunch at the hotel. Great parmi! Good location. Gary was very accommodating friendly and helpful. Simple lunch menu - but good food. The hotel is pet friendly. We looked at the rooms. Basic but clean. Shared bathroom also clean. Adding A/C would have helped in today’s heat.

We arrived late having been let down by other accom and found this hotel at the last minute. It’s a genuine old style hotel so the rooms reflect this but honestly, they could not do enough for us. So friendly, accommodating. We felt so welcome and looked after. It’s left a real soft spot for us as we enjoyed being around the place and chatting to the host. A rare gem. You don’t find places like this anymore.

We had a lovely experience at the Tarcutta Hotel in 2018 & wanted to relive that. We stayed in an AirBNB then & ate dinner at the pub and had a fabulous time with the locals. ||On our recent visit, we were the only ones there for dinner.||I had a T-bone steak and my husband had a schnitzel - they were OK (frozen veggies and a few pieces of lettuce for salad). Chips were tasty (again cooked from frozen).||Apparently we were lucky to get a room (the other 2 rooms were booked). ||It looked like the sheets hadn’t been cleaned from previous occupants so we slept on top of the bed, in our clothes, putting the towel provided by Anya on the pillow.||The communal toilet had skiddies in it which made is almost ‘dry reach’ and there’s no way we would have used the bath or shower.||We feel really bad for Anya because she must be doing it hard but we won’t go there again.||We stayed in Newcastle after that and paid $14 more for a beautifully clean room and private bathroom, TV and coffee & food making facilities.

Went from Wagga for Sunday lunch. Ordered Schnitzel with pepper sauce, veg and chips and Fish with salad, no chips.
Schnitzel was paper thin, cooked to a very deep brown, very crisp and dry, frozen veg that had been sitting in a hot box with no water, chips warm, soft, not crisp.
Fish was Beer battered Flathead fillets as described, frozen but nicely cooked, very simple salad which had been prepared sometime before, not chilled, warm.
Obviously the usual amount of salad, not more added because asked for no chips, still charged $21

We had a very warm welcome from our host (and her friendly dog!). Evelyn was super attentive and took great care of us. The drinks and food were very well priced-and delicious.

A special mention for the lovely music that was playing. I do hope this place succeeds. Australia needs more country pubs!

Awesome spot to stop. Gary (temp caretaker) was brilliant. Cooked up a storm and great service. Also met some really great people. Fantastic Pub Camping experience.
