Wonderful 4 nights! it was a bit rainy but not cold so we were still able to get out on the water and see all the wonderful marine life - whales, dolphins, dugong, turtles, fish plus the shipwrecks, pelicans. Facilities at the resort were excellent with activities for everyone including Bingo and Trivia nights. I would definitely recommend a visit even in winter!!

We booked directly through the Tangalooma website for the Aquatic Adventure Day Cruise, which included ferry transfers and gear rental for kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling — all for $155 per person. Aside from the locker fee, we didn’t spend anything extra on the island, thanks to the included perks.

The ferry ride was smooth (about 1h15), even for those who get motion sickness — very comfortable. We also got surprise bonuses: a voucher for a free drink on the ferry and $25 to spend at one of the island’s restaurants. Really nice touch!

Due to bad weather (wind), staff offered alternative options. We swapped the kayak and paddleboard rental for a longer guided snorkeling tour, which was a good call.

The island itself is stunning, and you’re free to explore at your own pace — a major plus. The snorkeling tour was okay, though the gear was pretty basic and the organization a bit chaotic. Not much support for beginners, and we spent a lot of time waiting around for only 30–40 minutes in the water (met at 12:45, finished around 3:30).

Lockers are $10 for the day, and you can’t keep the key — you have to leave it at the desk, which means queuing up each time you want access to your stuff.

Overall, a good experience that could definitely be better organized, but still totally worth doing — especially when booked as a package.

We got an adventure pack with Tangalooma with 3 nights stay and 3 activities: helicopter ride, whale watching cruise and desert safari. I also did dolphin feeding and ATV quad bike. The activities were fun and well managed / supervised. We got a room looking at the beach with fantastic view of the sunset. Overall, a very relaxing and fun short holiday.

We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Tangalooma Island Resort and it was the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and wildlife. From feeding wild dolphins at sunset to exploring the famous Tangalooma Wrecks, every moment felt magical.

Some highlights:
🏍️The ATV/Quad Bike tour was so much fun, great for thrill seekers!
🤿We kayaked and snorkeled around the wrecks and spotted turtles and fish.
🏄Sand boarding down the desert dunes was a blast!
🌅The sunset views over the water were absolutely stunning every evening.
⛴️The ferry/cruise to and from the island was smooth and scenic, just added to the whole experience.

The resort has BBQ facilities, so a great tip is to bring your own food and cook. It’s fun and saves money. There’s also plenty of wildlife around, from kookaburras to dolphins, which really makes you feel connected to nature.

Some tips:
⭐️There are $2 Lockers next to the toilets behind reception.
⭐️Don’t rush, stay over a night and book the Adventure Day Pass if you’re going to do all of the activities on it. If not it’s more worth to hire individually.
⭐️You can watch dolphin feeding without paying

If you’re after a unique island getaway with loads to do, Tangalooma is 100% worth it. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Our stay didn’t start off perfectly, as the first few hours were a bit disappointing. However, I truly appreciate how the staff and the manager handled the situation. They responded quickly, were extremely friendly, and took immediate steps to improve our experience. Thanks to their effort and professionalism, the rest of our stay was fantastic. Great customer service can really make a difference – and they proved it!

Location and overall island amazing 100/10 experience being here. Hotel staff sound like they hate their jobs and are very half arsed in providing service and help. They act like you are in the way and have been shoved out of the way by most. I have worked in hospitality before this is just people that could care less about their job. Bistro staff are half and half. The three guys that run the bar late at night are awesome though. The hotel rooms that suit 5 people are pretty sad. The floors are not mopped and turn your feet pitch black the second you walk in. The kitchenette very minimal items to cook with. No salt and pepper as it’s expected you’ll eat out every night. You’ll see all damage that’s previously been done and dirty walls from previous guests. Forget about wifi as well. Even after paying for it you will have no service when you get inside your room. They do a very quick sweep when cleaning and wouldn’t pay for this again.
