I stayed at Tallow Beach Motel during bluesfest. Frances and her staff went above and beyond to look after me during my stay. She changed my dates without issue, gave advice and an early checkin. There was an issue with my shower on Good Friday but she ensured it was fixed promptly.

I have never had a room serviced so well. It was so clean and tidy and lovely to come home to.

The motel is across the road from the beach and very charming. There was a bit of noise through the walls the first night but very quiet after that.

Charming Stay!

We stayed here over the New Year’s break and absolutely loved it! The place has such a warm, welcoming vibe – the kind of spot that instantly makes you feel at home.

The owners are super kind and friendly, and they gave us some great local recommendations – definitely take a moment to chat with them, it’s worth it! One of the special touches we really loved was their collab with Byron Bay Cookies – such a sweet (and tasty) detail that added to the experience.

The motel has a unique, old-style decor that gives it so much character and charm. You can park right outside your room, which is super convenient. It’s located just a 7-minute drive from Byron Street, making it close enough to explore but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet.

It’s pet-friendly, has a pool, and best of all – it’s only a 2-minute walk from the beach. We were lucky enough to watch dolphins during our morning beach walk – an unforgettable highlight!

We had such a great time and would absolutely stay again.

I can't speak highly enough about this place and the staff. This ended up being a very last minute decision to go to Byron for Christmas and New Year's break, and I never thought I would find anything available. From the moment I spoke to Frances, the owner I knew this was the place to stay. It's quiet, it's a bit quirky, its not a modern, bright shiny motel, its fabulous 1960 style little motel across the road from the access to the dog beach section on the amazing Tallow Beach. The rooms are big, they are clean the bed was huge and very comfortable, and they have everything you need, for me that included a little kitchen, the staff are just amazing, beautiful caring people. As a traveller on my own I felt completely safe, the self checkin was easy. You have the shops up the road at Suffolk Park for anything you need, and about 7 minutes to the Main Street of Byron if that is also where you want to be, If you are looking for somewhere to stay away from the crowds of Byron, check out this place, I will definitely be back there.

Nice easy parking outside our room a short walk to the Beach .Self check in with Lovely big room & a sitting area ! Bed was so good after a day's travel & not rock hard like so many Motels have .The small milk carton is also way better than those small miserly capsules in other places Short distance back to Pub for an evening meal -Enjoyed our overnight stay in this lovely area with you

This is the second time I've stayed here, it's a perfect location just a few steps away from the quiet, uncrowded beach (and doggy exercise area, which I'm a fan of)|Super easy check in, wonderful communication with staff and Frances was extremely helpful in assisting above and beyond the call of duty when asked for a special request.|The area less than a 10 minute drive from the center of Byron Bay, but well-serviced (within walking distance) from a small supermarket, pharmacist, bakery and several very good restaurants with a great variety of food!|

I’m rating this motel as 5 star due to value for money, location, amenities and overall comfort. From the moment I walked into the room I felt so peaceful and relaxed.

 The stay was very clean, with a quiet large room (even nicer than the pics!) and the staff were super helpful. Easily one of the most stunning beaches I've been to in Australia and was less than a minute walk across the road. Absolute paradise. Loved the convenience of being able to drive right up to my room. Given the small, boutique style, I can't believe my luck that there were rooms available, but I'm pretty stoked there was! This will definitely be the first place I check next time I'm staying in Byron Bay or surrounding areas. Awesome stay!
