A chilled place to take shelter on a rainy afternoon with your friends. Take a sip of your drink, take a bite, and catch up on the gossip!
Very hip decor 👌 with activities like trivia night or soccer table, etc. The staff were also quite nice and helpful.
The only thing that bothered me were the prices. It seemed dear compared to other similar places. The food is nice and tasty but not worthy of such a price which i feel like is mainly due to the location.

The beer might be what pulls people in, but Tallboy’s real magic is in the staff, the relaxed warehouse vibes, and yes - the chips. It's got that DIY charm: cheap timber walls, minimal frills, and a space that feels like it was thrown together with love and leftover materials. The result? Something authentically inviting, not just convieniently close to home.

Now, don’t get me wrong - the ever-rotating tap list is a wild ride and worth the visit. It’s a bit like going to GABS: you're guaranteed to try something you didn’t even know existed (and might not want to again). I’ve never had a bad beer here - just some that were, shall we say, challenging. If you're looking for a trusty go-to brew, this may not be your happy place. But if you like beer roulette, you’re in the right joint.

It’s a locals-first venue, and you can feel it - families, neighbours, and the occasional out-of-towner who looks like they meant to go to Welcome to Thornbury and just kept walking. The staff are lovely but clear: if you bring kids, keep them close. After 8pm, it’s adults-only, which feels like a public service announcement.

Inside, the noise levels are usually bearable, but if it gets too much, there’s a cracking outdoor area. (And Darebin Council - seriously, give T&M their extra space back already.)

The food’s also a winner. Pub snacks that punch above their weight (those chicken wings!), weekly deals, a standout parma burger, and prices that feel fair - especially in a neighbourhood where a pint can cost more than a round-trip Myki fare.

There might be shinier bars within walking distance, but Tallboy has earned its place as a locals’ favourite. It’s not trying to be the coolest bar in town - just the one you actually want to come back to. And that, honestly, is worth a lot.

Went there for our anniversary lunch today. Very relaxed space. Good food and drinks. Strange they ran out of ginger beer so didn't get my drink of choice but food was amazing. Not in your face staff. Laid back and friendly. Would definitely come back again. Kids had space. VERY RARE in pubs. Family friendly. Plenty of toilets.

At first impression it felt like we had found a winner of a venue, The lady singing for the Sunday music was great and set the vibe, however the steak I ordered was probably the worse steak I have ever had both in taste and looks, it had a disgusting mushy texture, as if it was frozen and defrosted in the microwave before slapping it onto the grill, stewing it way under temp and then over cooking it, I couldn't eat more than a mouthful, any decent chef would have seen that it wasn't suitable to serve. My partner had the lamb shanks which did taste good.

We've recently moved into the area and Tallboy and Moose has quickly become our favourite local! The beers are great, the food is delicious, the vibe is friendly, and the staff are legends. We've hit up steak night (perfectly cooked), trivia night (heaps of fun) and had a few Friday night burgers. Definitely recommend this place. Thanks Tallboy & Moose team!

Went for their Canada Day weekend.

We're out of stock of the main things we as a group were looking for chicken wings and perogies.

Food came out slow, 3 of us watched 1 person eat for 10 mins.

The Canadian side dishes that were available were not that exciting, the desserts were great tho, nanaimo bar and sticky date pudding

If we planned to just go for a drink would be a good chill place to go as they do have some good options on tap, but we booked a table for the food thst ended up being out of stock.
