Our trekking adventure with Take On Nepal was extraordinary! The team of guides were incredibly knowledgeable, but also friendly, fun, and full of energy. Their genuine enthusiasm truly made the experience unforgettable.

What made this journey even more special was the opportunity to give back to the beautiful community that welcomed us so openly. Knowing that our trek directly contributed to women's development in Nepal and helped improve children's access to education added a deeper layer of meaning to the adventure. It felt amazing to be part of an initiative that empowers and uplifts others while exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas.

Take On Nepal has truly set the gold standard for responsible and heartfelt travel. We couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking to combine adventure with purpose. Thank you for making our journey amazing!

The best of the best. Our experience was incredible. Our bag porters were the happiest on the trail over the many days we trekked. Our guide Sandip (our shepherd, big brother and protector) was passionate, motivating, educational and fun. The assistant guides helped set the pace and looked after us with the care of dear friends. Book with Take On Nepal for so many reasons. They support women in work and educate and support children without typical families. We have shared more laughs and support than we could measure and feel we have new friends for life.

You will be safe and successful with this group.

More Than a Trek: A Life-Changing Journey with Take on Nepal

Our first trip to Nepal was always going to be memorable — but we never expected to walk away feeling so profoundly moved, inspired, and changed. We chose to trek with Take on Nepal, and it quickly became clear that this organisation is about far more than trekking. They are deeply committed to empowering Nepal’s youth, supporting education, and uplifting entire communities. It’s a purpose you feel with every step of the journey.

We were incredibly fortunate to be guided by Samjana and supported by Subase — two extraordinary individuals who made our experience unforgettable.

Samjana is one of Nepal’s pioneering female trekking guides, and walking beside her was a true privilege. She is strong, smart, and deeply intuitive — always tuned in to our wellbeing, from physical comfort to emotional resilience. She kept a careful eye on the time, the terrain, and us, ensuring we always reached our destinations safely and with space to absorb the beauty of the mountains. We felt entirely safe and supported under her guidance. If you’re planning a trek, ask for Samjana. You will not only walk through Nepal’s landscapes — you will walk beside a woman reshaping them.

Subase, our porter, brought joy and heart to every day. His radiant smile lifted our spirits even when the trail got tough. Though this was his first trek in the role, his natural leadership and emotional intelligence stood out. We watched him effortlessly connect with people of all ages — from young students to village elders — with warmth, respect, and genuine interest. It’s clear he’s a rising leader, someone with the rare ability to unite and uplift everyone around him.

When you trek with Take on Nepal, you receive far more than logistics and support. You’re welcomed into something greater — a vision for a better future, carried on the shoulders of people like Samjana and Subase. You’ll leave this experience with more than memories. You’ll leave transformed.

We cannot recommend Take on Nepal highly enough. And if you can, walk with Samjana and Subase. They will remind you of what humanity, strength, and compassion truly look like.

Our trek with Take on Nepal was nothing short of incredible, and we owe it all to our phenomenal guide Samjhana and our amazing Sherpa Noodle. From the very first day, they felt like the perfect fit for us—like we’d known them forever.

Every day was filled with laughter, warmth, and genuine connection. Samjhana was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every step of the journey. Noodle brought an infectious smile and was equally attentive, making the challenging moments feel lighter and the beautiful ones even more memorable.

What truly set them apart was how much they cared—about us, about our experience, and about making sure this trip was everything we dreamed of and more. It wasn’t just a trek; it was a deeply personal, joyful, once-in-a-lifetime adventure. And we’re 100% sure it wouldn’t have been the same without these two incredible souls.

If you’re thinking of trekking with Take on Nepal, ask for Samjhana and Noodle. They made our trip unforgettable, and we’ll be talking about this experience for the rest of our lives.

My daughter and I trekked to Annapurna Base Camp for her 18th birthday. We had the best time ever. Susan, Clem, Anil and the whole Take on Nepal team were beyond incredible. It was so wonderful to get to experience Nepal, its beautiful scenery and culture through the team. We trekked with the most wonderful group of women, who made every day so enriching, entertaining and hilarious. From the start Susan and Clem brought us all together in a way that made us form lifelong friendships. Bim Maya expertly guided us every step of the way. We trusted in her knowledge of the mountains, absorbed her calm wisdom, drew strength from her rhythmic, steady pace, listened to her sweet songs and laughed until we cried at her hilarious sense of humour. Anil briefed us each day and as conditions changed, and made us feel safe and secure knowing his infinite wisdom and experience of trekking in the Himalayas was guiding us each day. He was genuinely proud of us all when we made it as one team to ABC. Lak Phuti was so sweet and caring with the whole team each and every day, always there looking after us. It was wonderful to be a part of Akriti’s first trek as she trains to be a guide and her friendship with my daughter was pure delight to see on the trek. I’m in awe of the porters and their strength, speeding up the steps we took twice as long to ascend. Their smiling faces meeting us at the end of the day was always a welcome sight. Every detail from hot tea in the snow as we watched the sunrise over the glacier and the sun light up Annapurna 1, to the heart felt round table sessions each night was absolute perfection. I can not recommend Take on Nepal highly enough. The love, care and admiration they have for every staff member is wonderful and every member of the Take on Nepal team are expert professionals in what they do. No other trekking company could provide the amazing experience my daughter and I had with Take on Nepal. We wouldn’t ever trek Nepal with anyone else 🤍

What an incredible experience from start to finish. We wanted to support a business that really looked after their staff and invested in the local economy and you would be hard pressed to find a better fit than Take on Nepal. Their entire ethos is on investing back into their village and particularly in female empowerment and ensuring everyone has the right to an eduction.

Aside from their philanthropic initiatives their staff are incredible. We were picked up at the airport in Kathmandu by Mehndo and Sabin and were instantly treated like family. Mehndo took us sightseeing and assisted us with last minute purchases in Thamel as well as introducing us to Anil who was equally as helpful.

What really set them apart though is the knowledge and experience of their guides and porters. From the moment we landed in Lukla we knew we were in incredible hands with Geljen and Lakpa Sherpa. My friend picked up a nasty chest infection in Kathmandu and Geljen was her personal motivation coach getting her all the way to Gorakshep. Lakpa's energy had me trying to match him bounding up the stairs! We cannot recommend them enough and will absolutely be asking for them again when we return next year.

We absolutely fell in love with the Himalayas and aside from the scenery it absolutely has everything to do with the expertise we experienced with Take on Nepal.

If you have the opportunity to trek with this group don't hesitate. It can be difficult with other organisations to know exactly how eithical their operations are, but with these guys you will never be in any doubt. They are so transparent, earnest and community minded. The opportunity to connect with Nepali guides and porters truly enriched my experience in this incredible, beautiful country.

Annapurna Base Camp was a wonderful experience if you love nature and challenge, and Chitwan National Park was an excellent addition to showcase a very different side of Nepal (animals like rhinos, gharials and hornbills in the wild, and a fascinating lowland environment).

Thank you once again to the Take on Nepal team for your kindness, knowledge and brilliant support.

My trek to Everest Base Camp with Take on Nepal was an awe inspiring adventure that I will treasure for a life time. From the first enquiry to the flight home, the team’s knowledge, expertise, and genuine care completely reassured me that I was in the right hands. Som and Susan’s unwavering commitment to ethical practice was evident from the start. Their passion for creating positive social, environmental, and economic impact for Nepalese communities was entwined throughout the whole journey in a way that truly set Take on Nepal apart from any others. Everyone from ground staff, guides, to porters were a welcome part of our experience and treated like family. I cannot recommend Take on Nepal enough and am so grateful to have done this trek with their team.
