I want to thank the team at Sydney party shop!!

They were so helpful in assisting me get everything for my daughters birthday. From the cake, streamers wrapping paper and all the amazing lollies.

There was no need to go to any other shop as they help me arrange and prepare everything.

If you are looking to arrange your next party then I would highly recommend speaking to the wonderful staff members.

We have been going to Bexley Party Shop for years and we will unfortunately never be going there again.

We ordered two balloons a 60. When putting in the order a week prior we were advised they would be closed on the Sunday (the day we needed the balloons) so we organised to pick them up on the Saturday. When ordering we said a 3pm pick up time however never advised that there was a time constraint on pickup and it needed to be on the dot.

On the Saturday we arrived to pick up the balloons at 1:30pm as plans had changed for the day. First of all when I walked into the shop I was ignored for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged by staff and when acknowledged and advised I was there abit early for the pick up I was told it would be a 45 minute wait (FOR TWO BALOONS), and the lady was rolling her eyes during this interaction, mind you I paid close to $80 for these balloons which was ridiculous when I looked elsewhere the price was no where near that much so I felt so ripped off.

I then asked for a refund due to the wait, as although I was totally aware I was a little early for pickup I did not expect to be spoken to with the attitude I was greeted with and they said they could only provide a “store credit” which was totally useless considering I still needed to repurchase ballon’s elsewhere.

In the end they ended up preparing the ballon’s after about 10 minutes and the ballon’s took not even 5 minutes to prepare.

By the next morning on the Sunday, the 0 had also almost completely deflated which was the worst part of all after all that hassle and money. We will never return to bexley party shop

I went in to buy an item that was listed as $4 online for Click & Collect, but in-store it was $5. I asked if I could get it for the online price, but the manager refused, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the young blonde lady staff who helped me was polite and friendly great customer service from her. 2-star is becoz of her, otherwise I give 1-star or 0 if i could.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by the manager's attitude.

Updated - May 12, 2025, 4:26pm : The young lady did call someone to ask what to do. If that wasn't the manager, it was the supervisor or store owner.

We bought some Thomas the Tank Engine balloons this weekend from Sydney Party Shop, alongside about another $100 worth of items. Upon inflating them, 3 out of 4 burst. No other balloons burst while inflating. I took the balloons back to request a refund for 3 burst balloons.

Over the years I have regretted dealing with this shop any time we have had to and this time was no different. We won’t ever come back.

The lady blowing balloons is savagely rude and miserable for someone working in a place for joy. She immediately stated with full authority that they had been overinflated. I asked her how she knew that if she didn’t inflate them herself and that perhaps the balloons failed because of a manufacturing issue. She said because they inflate these balloons all the time. What she couldn’t quite grasp was that every ballon is different and it is possible that these 3 balloons failed because they’re faulty. She wasn’t able to grasp that fact unfortunately so turned even nastier and claimed no responsibility for perhaps selling faulty items. It was of course everyone else’s fault.

For the sake of 3 balloons, we won’t ever be back at the loss of likely hundreds of dollars over time, plus opportunity cost of others seeing this review and also deciding it’s not worth the effort of dealing with a company who actually charge over the average for a less than average service. Use Big W or Spotlight instead.

Edit in response to the store: you are unable to prove you haven’t sold a faulty product which is similar to some other reviews here. Simply, buyers beware.

Way over priced for balloon's. Paid $50.00 for two number balloons. I know times are tough but this was a huge rip off. Will be definitely going elsewhere next time.
