We had an incredible time last night with Sydney Harbour Kayaks — it was absolutely perfect! The guides (Shannon and Gabi) were fantastic: knowledgeable about the harbour, the icons, and everything in between. Kayaking was such a brilliant way to experience Vivid and see the harbour from a whole new perspective. As a total novice on the water, I felt completely safe and surprisingly confident — almost like an expert! A brilliant family outing for both teens and parents. Thanks Sydney Harbour Kayaks.

What an amazing way to see the city at night!
I have gone on a sunrise kayak of middle harbour previously and that was an incredible experience but to see the city lit up at night for vivid from the water was just beautiful and whilst other boats are out on the water, it actually was a peaceful paddle. This is worth checking out whilst vivid is on, the guides are really professional and take their time and give you insights to the surrounding area and history. Thank you for a great night out!

My two sons and I enjoyed the 6:30pm Vivid tour last Wednesday evening. The pre-paddle facilities were great and Shannon and crew were very efficient in organising our group of eight. The spray jackets and life jackets were good quality, as were the 6 m long sea kayaks that we launched from a sheltered spot next to one of the ships at the Maritime Museum. I’ve a Canadian style canoe and have previously disliked kayaks, but these were comfortable to sit in and enjoyable to use - very stable and quick. Although the air temperature was cool, the water felt warm on the few occasions my hand dipped into the harbour. We weren’t cold at all. The short journey to Balmain East ferry terminal went via several historical ships of the museum, and we were treated to spectacular views of the various Vivid light shows, including the Harbour Bridge.
I’d recommend this experience to anyone - and not just during Vivid!

Shannon and staff were very helpful and informative prior and during the kayaking activity with an emphasis on safety. I thoroughly enjoyed being on the water viewing Vivid. I intend to do this activity again and highly recommend to both locals and tourists wanting a unique experience on Sydney Harbour.

What a brilliant way to see vivid - while having an adventure on the water in beautiful cockle bay / darling harbour / Barangaroo and Balmain
Shannon our extremely professional and experienced guide and his capable assistant gabi ensured we felt safe and confident the whole time.
I was surprised that we didn’t feel at all cold despite the night temperature being 10’ and a little windy.
I’m a convert to kayaking thanks to this experience
