Amazing health care workers. BEAUTIFUL Chapel, my favourite part of this hospital!! And the views are great!!! Workers were all so kind, friendly and informative! The nurses were amazing, the physiotherapist was great!! Surgery went very well. All round great hospital! Shout out to all the nurses who worked on level 9 on the 10th-11th of Jan 2025!

My husband and I attended the emergency on Saturday 1st march before 7am and my husband was triaged straight away by the wonderful staff in emergency then he was looked after by Krissy an amazing hard working nurse from the beginning of her shift all day until she finished. The staff were very professional and efficient from the moment we arrived to discharge. The hospital is well appointed and well maintained. It feels luxurious compared to public hospitals but obviously the costs are higher.

I love the spaciousness of the waiting areas and the greenery surrounding the hospital.
I spent a lovely morning watching some kookaburras and cockatoos feeding and playing.while waiting.

It's located in an affluent suburb and it's accessible via car or buses.

Overall a very pleasant experience.

Our baby was born at 37 weeks and 5 days, but due to an error in the hospital system, the gestational age was recorded as 39 weeks. This led to bilirubin levels being assessed using the wrong chart, meaning jaundice was not flagged as early as it should have been. On the day of discharge, a nurse caught the mistake, and our baby had to be admitted to special care for blue light therapy, extending our hospital stay.

We appreciate the care we received, but this oversight could have had serious consequences. I urge expecting parents to double-check that their baby's details are recorded correctly, especially for things like gestational age, as it impacts important medical decisions.

During my stay at SAN Hospital, I found the medical team, particularly the doctors, to be highly skilled and professional and the overall service was generally good. However, my experience with the nursing staff was significantly below expectations, especially when compared to other hospitals I have been treated at, such as Macquarie, Norwest, and Hornsby Hospital.

Unfortunately, due to nursing negligence, I experienced severe complications. While under the effects of strong painkillers, I unknowingly lost blood for two hours. When the issue was finally noticed, I was not provided with intravenous fluids, despite being severely dehydrated. Furthermore, the next morning, I was informed that my specialist had been consulted regarding my condition, only to later discover that this was not the case. I was discharged without a proper review of my symptoms, which led to a rapid deterioration in my health. As a result, I had to be rushed to the hospital the following day, ultimately spending seven days at Hornsby Hospital to recover.

This experience has led me to lose confidence in SAN Hospital, and I would strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering treatment there. Ensuring patient safety and proper care should be a priority, and in my case, these fundamental aspects were not met.

$385 for a blood test and zero help. I still have a painful rash all over my body. There are multiple issues with my blood work on the paper I was handed but told they're normal. They didn't listen or note down that my mother has rheumatoid arthritis. I can't even pay anyone to help me.

Having had two procedures in the last 3 months my hope was that my first experience was a one off. Unfortunately this was not at all the case. First of all I cannot fault the pre op area. They were lovely, thorough and kept me well informed. I also had the pleasure of having an amazing surgeon and anaesthetist.

Once out of theatre and in the ward it all goes significantly downhill. Twice now I experienced significantly understaffed wards, miserable nurses who cannot take a set of post op observations correctly (stressful when you are a nurse yourself). I had a nurse give me paracetamol IV then come in not even 2hrs later to give me more paracetamol. When I questioned the timing she told me it had been over 4 hrs (I was still in theatre at that time).

I spent the entire first night after surgery wide awake with a headache as the nurses spent the whole night shift talking as loud as possible right outside my room. I politely asked if they could keep it down.

The food… just dismal

On discharge the nurses kept telling me they could not provide me with a medical certificate.
After telling her I was also a nurse she magically worked out how to create one.

I really expected more from this private hospital. If it weren’t for my surgeon operating from there I would never have gone back the second time.

Norwest private hospital is far superior in all aspects..

The staff appear very caring and professional. However, the hospital needs to work better on its communication about expected times in pre-op, recovery and the wards. It was also very isolating and unexpected (despite reading all the paperwork; and even then, it would still be isolating) that only one parent of a young child could accompany them to and in recovery.
