Terrible management. I rented an apartment for over a year and had constant problems with Greg, who is abusive, dishonest, and rude. He tries to withhold my security deposit (Bond)

He tried to evict us from the apartment twice because the owners were coming on vacation. The second time, I sought legal advice because we were being harassed!

He rents dirty, poorly maintained apartments to thousands of students who live in overcrowded conditions. There was drug dealing in front of our apartment, and there was a fire because they were cooking the drugs there. On another occasion, two dealers had a brutal fight in the lobby. Many dealers live there, and robberies occur in the parking lot constantly. Greg is aware of all these situations and does nothing about them. (For this manager, the only thing that matters is filling his wallet.)

My wife and I owned a beautiful apartment on the top floor, though decided to sell after one year due to the disgraceful management. Once the Building Manager realised we wouldn’t be using his services to holiday let during our absence, things really took a turn. He had our key safe cut from a location out of sight (and right beside a number of other key safes which were untouched).

During our first week there we had a large group of young people access the roof via the fire escape. They kicked the door in at around 10pm, making a hell of a racket. I got security involved, but as they didn’t seem interested, I called the police the next day. The Building Manager mysteriously had no cctv to provide to the police. They were more than likely his tennants I’d say, as he used to run much of the building as something very similar to a back packer hostel, squeezing many students into the one apartment. The result of that was a bbq/pool area overloaded with partying Brazilians. While they were usually quite pleasant, the owners or holiday makers just couldn’t use the facilities they’d paid for. The manager couldn’t have cared less. His job was totally self-serving, only looking at the bottom line.

There were so many unhappy owners in the building. You would think a disgraceful manager would be addressed and removed by the Body Corporate, but alas, that was not to be as there appeared to be too many with a vested interest involved. The best thing for us to do was just sell up.

NOTE TO ALL who have a relation to this complex. I would strongly suggest to reconsider your decision of who to Rent or sell with and who you depend on for serviceability! Greg’s way of service barely meets 1 star results. He doesn’t know how to service clients and as someone myself who is very service driven, I really can say that if you think Greg is doing a great job for you as an investor, seller, tenant or buyer you should probably think again because he doesn’t answer calls nor call back unless it’s in HIS best interest otherwise he will leave you hanging to dry. He will eventually silence your number trying to get ahold of him because he doesn’t want to face the truth of not taking responsibility for his job as some who has dealt with plenty of on-site managers I can tell you he would have to be the worst. All of you living in this complex that have to depend on Greg for your support, best of luck. I really do sympathise for those who also experienced poor servicing. DONT expect 5 star service or anything near when you book, buy or sell in this complex under his management.

The management were always very rude with request or questions we had. It was a hard time living at surfers plaza so I definitely do not recommend this place. Also, the price is abusive once the units they announce as 2 bedrooms are actually 1 bedroom plus study room. Very dirty facilities as well.

My experience at Surfers Plaza Resort has been mixed since I've moved here. When Christine was in charge, things ran smoothly, but I could understand that she was quite busy. However, things took a turn for the worse when the new receptionist came on board. I've been trying to obtain a copy of my contract for over a year and a half, and it still hasn't been provided to me. When I raised this issue in person with both the receptionist and Greg, the situation became quite unpleasant. The receptionist was dismissive and sarcastic in her responses, which left me feeling disheartened. On top of that, Greg seemed to avoid me by hiding in the back office when I approached him about my contract, and he used derogatory language to address me. Such disrespectful and rude behaviour towards a tenant who always paid rent on time and never caused any issues is uncalled for. Every tenant has the right to access their contract information. Given my experience, I cannot recommend this place.

Greg is a manipulative, lying bully! Do not trust this man at all. He is rude with no compassion and has zero customer service skills whatsoever. Do not waste your money, the cleanliness and the way this place is ran is an absolute joke. The smell of the floor we stayed in was absolutely disgusting. If there was an option for no stars at all, they would all be zilch!

Went to the day spa downstairs and it was nice. It could be bit more organised when arriving and quieter inside, but the therapist treatments were good. We used the sauna and heated pool upstairs, the view was lovely.

Location is perfect if you want to be close to surfers paradise (Cavill ave 1 minute walk) and close to bus stop. One bedroom apartment was a decent size with an amazing view. Not super clean though, dishes were not throughly cleaned and bathroom was not super clean either. Great value for money though would definitely return.
