I am so glad that they opened one of the branches in Petersham area. I had the opportunity to try their food. Good variety of options for chicken, beef, fish, veggie burgers.. ice creams are nice.. the stuffs are so friendly and always making sure that we are getting the best service... i liked the interior of the shop.. the pricing of the food is very reasonable... I loved the burger I tried.. it was just perfect.. I am definitely going back there again! Highly recommended!!

Has this place changed owners or something? It use to be run by English/white people and today it was two Indian kids.

The burgers are now NOTHING like they use to be. Suburgia Petersham use to be my favourite burgers of all time as shown by the screen shot of my previous review from a couple years ago. We Have been maybe 10 times since leaving that review. Went today for lunch and the burgers were shockingly revolting. The patty’s use to be thin and have a nice burnt crust on them, today they just seemed undercooked, wet and similar to the no frills frozen beef patties, although there was so little meat in it I’m fairly sure the majority of the patties were mostly hamburger helper and other non-meat fillers. I’m also not joking about the frozen no-frills patties, without seeing the box I would bet my house these patties are just store bought factory made patties.

Also the bacon has now changed to fake bacon that is horrible.

The chicken burger meat is clearly deep fried in the same oil as fish, the batter of the chicken tastes strongly of fish, and the amount of oil coming out of the chicken burger was insane.

Such a shame, one of the best burger places has gone down hill so quickly.
I can’t explain any further of how disappointed we are at the burgers at Suburgia now. Waste of Calories, waste of going out for a meal, waste of money.

This place will close down before the summer.

This place was so bad today that I don’t even want to try the one at Redfern as this experience has completely destroyed the whole brand for me.

*edit* just seen that the last few Google reviews are all 1 star reviews echoing similar experience we had today. Such a shame, another once great food outlet being run into the ground by people who shouldn’t have anything to do with food for human consumption. Also seen that the Redfern site is just as bad as my experience today since the change of ownership at the end of last year.
It was obvious from the burgers themselves that something drastic has changed and others who frequent more than I have mentioned the change of ownership which is pretty obvious from going from one of the best burger joints to one of the worst.

I’ve also seen the new owners try to say their patties meat is sourced from a reputable butcher and is Angus beef. I guess Woolworths frozen section is a “reputable butcher” and “Angus beef” is probably the brand of the frozen beef patties they buy…

Quite possibly the best burgers I’ve had. The “worst” thing is trying to choose what to have! Very good range of beef, chicken, fish and vegan options. My favourite is the “Chatswood”, which features a super-crunchy chicken fillet.

The zucchini chips, tempura onion rings and chips are absolutely delicious and very moreish.

Great customer service, too. Highly recommended!

It’s a love/hate relationship. As a vegan, I absolutely love their burgers, but staff are often rude and grumpy. Was super disappointed with my order today however, as I received a tiiiiny portion of fries although having paid full price. Shrinkflation is real, y’all. Pattie’s have also been received burned twice. ☹️ at this stage, I’m not sure if I’ll return (at least not to the petersham branch).

They promote their business on the Eat Club App with up to a 35% discount but it does not work. I ordered two burgers here on my partner and planned to pay with the App and the system was not receiving it. After a conversation with the owner, he just decided unilaterally to charge the full price. Don't get into business partnerships if you are not going to commit, scammers!

Felt like a scam! Forced to pay via personal bank transfer with no receipt and no discount as advertised!

Yesterday, we visited this place after seeing a 30% off deal on the EatClub app. When we ordered, we were told their payment system was down and we should eat first and pay afterward. After eating, we were asked to transfer the full amount to the owner’s personal bank account. no EFTPOS, no invoice, no business details, nothing.

We explained we came because of the 30% discount on EatClub, but the staff claimed they had nothing to do with the app, that EatClub lists them without permission, and that they wouldn’t honour the deal. I even showed the discount to the staff. They didn’t give us a receipt either.

Because we had already eaten, we had no choice but to pay. We didn’t want to be accused of walking out without paying. But afterward, we checked the app again and saw they were definitely listed. Meaning they lied to us!

We left feeling cheated and uncomfortable. Never coming back.

Ordered 2 burgers for pickup but unfortunately we ended up binning them. The patties were flavourless, cold and soggy, looked and tasted like they were just from a packet. Bacon looked and tasted like spam or something similar? The rolls were super soggy on the bottom, as was the lettuce. So disappointing as had tried the same burger from here recently and it was fine. Chips were good though. So disappointing and $50 down the drain 🙁
