I recently contacted the Strandbags store at Bankstown, and the experience was utterly disappointing. The store manager named Jessica displayed appalling customer service. She was not only rude but also dismissive, particularly towards my mother, who was trying to get assistance.

When I mentioned the possibility of contacting head office and leaving feedback, her attitude did not improve. It’s unacceptable for a staff member, especially a Store Manager to behave in such an unprofessional and condescending manner. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the store and the brand as a whole.

I will be reporting this incident to head office and leaving this review to warn others about the poor treatment they might encounter here. I cannot recommend this store to anyone. An absolute disgrace!!

After reading the reviews here, I’m not surprised by Strandbags’ poor customer service. The store manager, Jess, is incredibly rude and makes it clear that returns or exchanges are unwelcome. I have to give 1 start to write my review.

I purchased a bag last Sunday, but it was too small for my needs. I returned on Friday with the receipt and tags intact, requesting a refund. Jess checked the receipt and claimed the bag was non-returnable because a discount had been applied under a "faulty item" code—something that was never disclosed to me. The staff member who sold me the bag simply offered a 10% discount without mentioning any faults.

Jess insisted she needed to confirm with that staff member, took my number, and called me back 20 minutes later. When I returned, she was visibly annoyed and repeated the same explanation. I asked her to show me the supposed fault, as I couldn’t see one. If the bag was faulty, why wasn’t I informed at the time of purchase? She vaguely pointed out some loose threads and kept arguing about the store losing money on faulty returns.

Despite other customers waiting, she refused to serve them first and continued arguing. Eventually, she processed the return but warned me not to come back for future returns. I was shocked by her arrogance and unprofessionalism.

Do yourself a favour—avoid this store.

Thank you to Bankstown team and especially Customer care. I am amazed my the swift turn around of their service they provided to me.
Background: Had a flight next day and made a last minute purchase online - usually takes 24 hrs to be ready and processed but they responded within 12 hours. Greatly appreciate the team effort and would definetely recommend it again and also lots of options and deals in shop. 😊👍

Not even 1 star. I brought a bag roughly 1.5 weeks ago online at Bankstown for a click and collect. I went there to collect it 2 days later and the workers were just slouching against the counter were like “did u recieve a call? if not then its not ready yet”, glanced barely over my shoulder to the wallet section and didn't even move an inch to have a look in the back etc. I felt that they were being kinda rude but I guess i’ll wait for their call. A week later I got an email about how the item was out of stock so they had to reorder, which is fine and only about 4 days ago they said it’s ready. Technically because its out of stock and I had to wait 1.5 weeks for it to be back its not 2 weeks yet. I got a call yesterday and the staff was asking when i’m going to pick it up because its been sitting there for 2 weeks, which i said oh but i think its unfair because i haven’t been able to collect it because it was something on their end. They said someone found it and it was lying around this WHOLE time. If only they actually got their ass up and checked i wouldn’t be here. They wouldn’t extend the date and kept threatening if i don’t come in then they’ll cancel it the next day. I just got fed up and went to Burwood instead and i told them my situation, and when the staff heard about the location then you know it’s bad. Immediately Marina was so determined to help me, looking at the shelves, and opening some boxes, and went around the store and found one available and said she’ll try to get Bankstown to transfer my order to their end and i’ll be able to have it. After some struggles, Bankstown were being nasty saying their ‘busy’ and hangs up and refuses to transfer. They don’t understand the severity of the situation and they DEFINITELY WEREN’T BUSY. That also doesn’t excuse their behaviour of being nasty and not help out a customer with the best of ability. Marina just gave me the wallet, plus a free gift and said it’ll be no worries and she will handle the rest. She satisfied my request and i’m very happy to become a returning customer at the BURWOOD store and not BANKSTOWN.

Extremely rude service lady. She does not have any customer service skills. I had gone with the intention of buying a suitcase but after being confronted by her rude behaviour, I knew I wouldn't want to waste my money here. Way to drive away customers. You should train your staff with basic etiquettes of how to deal with people if you want to retain customers.

I have visited this store over the weekend and have been appalled by what I have witnessed. The manager was rude to me and her staff (there was a lovely girl with red hair and a lovely one in a scarf) and I found that disgraceful. She was dismissive toward me as the customer and her co-worker while she was serving me and I did not appreciate this. She kept cutting the girl off as she was trying to talk to me and kept telling her to complete other tasks while she was clearly serving me and this resulted in me not buying my 3 piece set of suitcases. Additionally, I am sure this workplace has a dress code and she looked very unprofessional wearing gym tights and a singlet. This experience made me not want to return.

16/11/24 morning I walked in, 2staffs wearing scarves ignored me for 10 minutes, I’m ok with that, but when I asked questions,their attitude was dismissive, reluctant to answer the questions.
