The Flinder's Ranges is a great place to star gaze and having a curated experience by a passionate professional is one of the best ways to see the amazing sights that the night sky has to offer.
Karl makes the time fly by as he recounts the various constellations, galaxies and stars that can be seen and chased, with a telescope!

We're looking forward to coming back to the Flinders Ranges and booking another experience with Karl next year!

My wife and I had a fabulous night stargazing with Karl at Stellar Science. The location at Rawnsley Park, in the Flinders Ranges, near to Wilpena, was ideal. The skies were clear and free of light pollution. Karl was a friendly and enthusiastic guide who educated and entertained our small group. We viewed many stars, nebula and galaxies, with each participant having their own telescope. The science was accessible and fun. This is a must-do activity for all visitors to the Flinders Ranges. Outstanding value. An unforgettable night under the Milky Way. Highly recommended.

This tour is a must do while in the Flinders. It's one thing to look at the stars around a campfire, it's another thing completely to be up close and personal with them. This is what this tour does.
We all got to see the most incredible things.
The craters on the moon that look close enough to touch. Galaxies that look like a smudge bursting into colour and light through the telescope. Distant nebulas so far away it can barely be comprehended, bought up close just for us.
How often do you have a personal guide to the universe? Karl is your knowledgeable ambassador to the stars. He answers all your questions (there will be many!), while still allowing a sense of wonder to envelope you. You are in safe hands while you venture out beyond the solar system.
It's not often that you are gripped with a genuine sense of awe, but one peek through the telescopes expertly set up by Karl and you will be dazzled. It's almost impossible to stop all of our group talking at once, but we all got very quiet while we enjoyed the stunning show Karl put on for us.
The photos he took of us with the Milky Way are amazing!
Dress warm, the universe can be a cold place. .
Go with a sense of curiosity and exploration and you will be rewarded handsomely.

Incredible evening seeing the wonders of the universe unlocked and in full technicolor! What, with the naked eye, was just another black piece of sky was transformed into a treasure chest of sparkling jewels when viewed through Karl’s telescope’s.
Karl’s knowledge, enthusiasm and patience made it a really enjoyable evening and kept even our most jaded 10 year old enraptured and focused for the entire time.
Certainly enhances any trip to the Flinders Ranges as the immensity of the universe laid out by Karl adds to the awe you can’t help but feel with the vast and ancient landscape around you.

Thoroughly enjoyed the star gazing night 3 weeks ago with Stellar Science while staying at Willow Springs Station. Karl is affable, enthusiastic and hugely knowledgeable while explaining some amazing astrological facts. The tour is fantastic, so interesting and incredibly humbling when you start to understand some of the amazing stars and galaxies above. Karl even takes the time to send some images from the night to you. Loved the Tarantula Nebula!!! I would really recommend the Flinders Stargazing tour. Thanks so much Karl.

Fantastic experience! Highly recommend the Stellar Science star gazing tour. This was a real highlight of our time in South Australia. Karl is friendly and personable, and extremely knowledgeable. He taught us so much about the night sky in the southern hemisphere. I couldn’t believe how much we were able to see through the telescopes, and the photos Karl sent home with us were amazing!
