There were more stairs than I expected, so be prepared for a bit of a workout, but the trail itself was very well-marked and easy to follow thanks to plenty of signage. Highly recommended!

One of Sydney’s great walks that most should be able to do if can walk 10km. Amazing views throughout. Less crowded on weekdays but a good trail at anytime. If can coincide your walk with low tide, more interesting along beachfront away from suburban streets. Very well signposted. Allow 2.5-3hrs. Hilly bits not too long and strenuous. I have a preference for walking in easterly direction Spit Bridge to Manly for a ferry ride back to city, but the other way won’t be too bad either.

The one-way journey is 11 kilometers long, with a lot of steps to climb. What sustained me through the whole journey was the sea view, which was so dreamy and beautiful that it was worth all the hard work. I think this is why Spit to Manly is regarded as a classic hiking trail.

Took a bus from Manly to Spit, and started the walk from Spit back to Manly. The trail was pretty much empty the whole way except for a few other walkers. Most of them opted to walk in the Manly-Spit direction instead.

Relatively easy stroll, took me about 2 hours with plenty of photo stops in between. Definitely worth spending some time exploring this trail! I consider this one of the most beautiful walks I’ve done in the area, with lots of viewpoints and plenty of different sights overlooking some amazing cliffs.

There were also beaches along the way where I could take short breaks and fill up on water. All in all a beautiful walk, I would definitely do this one again 🥹

It is a beautiful walking trail. If you're not a fan of too much sun, like me, it is better to visit there on a cloudy day. Water dispenser and other facilities are only available in the parks.

Awesome walk to see some of Sydney’s stunning beaches and nature. If you don’t have time to see much in Sydney, and you love nature, this is a must do!

Walked from Manly to the Spit and never had a boring moment! I would've like more signs or a better map but this trail is my ultimate favourite walk in Sydney. Has lots of stairs and gorgeous views. I can barely wait to walk this trail again!

A gorgeous costal path that blends city parks, beaches and light bushwalking.

The highlight for me was the Grotto Point rock engravings, and I enjoyed the (relative) wilderness of the trail from Grotto Point down into Reef Beach. Plan for a swim at Reef Beach—you won’t be disappointed.

I took public transit (two buses from the CBD: 140 and transferred to the 144) to the Spit so that I could walk into Manly and take a ferry back. The extra effort it took to first travel by bus paid off when I enjoyed an afternoon in Manly and then easily hopped on to a ferry home.
